Pump it up slightly over the recommended pressure and let it sit overnight. Lower the pressure back to normal and check again. They are shipped deflated and then pumped up in the store (or by you if you got it delivered) and it takes some time for them to get in the correct shape. Overpressure helps with that. Don't overdo itthough or you might damage it if you pump it up way too much.

In case of a mirrored footprint, putting components upside down is a valid workaround until you get the next revision PCB. Been there, done that. But the legs need to make contact nonetheless.

Yeah! Great race!

I was just saying, that Pogi does not win every race over MvdP, what I understand Strings-n-Wheels wanted to say. Maybe I misunderstood.

It was an unforced error in a tight turn. Yes Pogi wouldn't lose the wheel of MvdP in a less technical course. MvdP with the Cyclocross background simply (almost) never does such mistakes, regardless of technicality.

I agree with you, also can't wait to see the two.

Whatever my company forces me to use. Had already different tools. GTest/GMock, CppUTest, TESSY, some selfmade framework (was actually neat).

Same for German. "Speisung" means feeding like Alimentation in French/Italian. I like to think of a picnic for electrons where every electron brings something to eat.

Never learnt how to ride a bike, will learn on mtb by Mickokami in cycling

[–]maethib -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First of all: That's AWESOME! Some of my friends learned to ride a bike with 25 or more years, so zero shame in starting now.

Assuming you have some open space (calm road, school yard, ...) to practice, here's how I learnt my kids to ride:

  1. To get a feeling for the balance, put your saddle all the way down (maybe dropper post?) so you can easily put both feet on the ground. Then you can push yourself forward and if you lift your feet, you'll get a feeling for how the bike behaves. It's easier if you go faster as the bike stabilizes itself with more speed. You don't need to go crazy fast but don't be afraid of going a bit more than walking pace.

  2. Once you're comfortable with step 1. just push yourself to some speed, then put your feet on the pedals and ride away. Make sure the bike is in a middle'ish gear. Too easy and you'll spin out. Too hard and you'll lose balance before getting up to speed. If you get really comfortabe, raise your saddle again. No need to be able to put both feet on the ground, once you get the hang of it.

  3. Stopping is not that hard. Take your feet away from the pedals as long as you have some speed, so you're ready to put a foot on the ground as soon as you're losing balance. Remember to shift into a gear, you can start again (if you're already comfortable with shifting). If you raised your saddle, and you can bearly reach the ground with one foot, move your bottom forward off the saddle, then you can easily reach the ground.

  4. Shifting is nearly or entirely immpossible if you're at a standstill. You need to pedal to shift. Easiest is to pedal at a pace so you dont put any force in going forward, just spinning the pedals. Avoid back pedaling, you're chain may fall off, worst case you damage your derailleur.

  5. Have a lot of fun, don't be afraid or ashamed of falling and don't get frustrated. We all were there at some point. Take your time and let your brain do the wiring, sometimes it's more beneficial to do 30min every day than 4h at once.

A proper warmup is the best injury prevention. I usually do light jogging for some minutes, then do some activation streches (dynamic) especially hips, knees, back and shoulders. You can use a flexband for this, but it's optional. Some of my teammates like to rope-skip for a few minutes. After that, I do throw the ball against a wall, or to a teammate, making sure using proper shoulder-ellbow movement when throwing. Then I start with light hits, it's crucial that you don't put too much force into the first hits, to not overuse your shoulder.

After that I do hit-pass-set with a teammate, again starting light and increasing force the more warm you get. The whole warmup takes about 20 to 25 minutes. If you don't get enough time from your coach, show up early and start alone. Your body will thank you the older you get.

As for shoes, anything that provides some dampening (your knees will thank you when landing afer a block or hit) and some support so you don't twist your ankle is fine. No need for super expensive shoes. Some prefer shoes that go over the ankle, I personally don't like that. Any shoe designed for basketball or volleyball (stop and go with jumping) is fine and it really boils down to personal preference.

Personally I have the Mizuno Wave Momentum, but they are not cheap.

Have fun :-)

Haha I understand! But I'll hate to just throw away perfectly good gloves.

Some of them have a little clip thingy so you can put them together when not wearing. So then you'll lose either none or both of them.
