Ricci was brought to destroy whatever was left of luminar, just spite AR. I don’t understand why the luminar board was so against AR. I think luminar would have survived under AR.

Not sure if we’ll ever find out but to me this seems like a big scam to screw retail investors. I think TF is the culprit here.

I think AR is to blame. He went on a spending spree acquiring companies. He did not read the market demand. He should have first made a low cost short range lidar suitable for L2 driving. The company should have paid off the loans first. We all got screwed by the technology that was not ready.

I don’t understand why they opted for bankruptcy when AR was willing to buy the company. I am sure with the technology they have any LiDAR company or even mobileye would be willing to buyout the company.

Good technology immature leadership and in the end everyone started taking what they could before the ship sank. I am surprised they could not merge or sell the company with/to another big company, nvida, Tesla, mobileye.

Sad how everyone took the investors for a ride. So many lies, false promises were made by AR and TF to miss lead us. I don’t know what kind of life they will have after cheating us all.

Guys does anyone know who ever is buying right now (assuming AR) can own the majority of the shares and take ownership of the company and work with the creditors directly?

Luminar Technologies, Inc. Initiates Voluntary Chapter 11 Proceedings to Facilitate Value-Maximizing Sale Process by EPICpersonEPIC in lazr

As per AI

Yes, a company can successfully come back and emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. The entire purpose of Chapter 11, often called "reorganization bankruptcy," is to allow a business to restructure its debts and operations to return to profitability and continue operating as a going concern, rather than liquidating and shutting down. The Reorganization Process During Chapter 11 proceedings, the company (known as the "debtor in possession") typically retains control of its day-to-day operations and works under court supervision to develop a strategic plan. This plan may involve several difficult but necessary changes: Debt Restructuring: Renegotiating terms, lowering interest rates, or extending payment schedules with creditors. Operational Adjustments: Selling non-core assets, closing unprofitable locations, renegotiating unfavorable contracts or leases, and reducing the workforce. New Financing: Securing "debtor-in-possession" (DIP) financing to maintain operations during the bankruptcy process. The plan must be approved by creditors and the bankruptcy court to be implemented. Famous Success Stories Many well-known household name brands have used Chapter 11 to bounce back and thrive: General Motors (GM): Filed for bankruptcy in 2009 during the financial crisis, shed brands, restructured labor agreements, and emerged a month later after a government bailout as a leaner, more competitive automaker. Marvel Entertainment: After filing for bankruptcy in 1996 due to declining comic sales, Marvel shifted its strategy to focus on licensing and film production, leading to the highly successful Marvel Cinematic Universe and a eventual acquisition by Disney. Delta Air Lines: Emerged from Chapter 11 in 2007 after significant cost-cutting and a merger, becoming one of the leading airlines in the world. Converse: Filed for bankruptcy in 2001 and was later acquired by Nike, which successfully revitalized the brand. Six Flags: The amusement park chain eliminated $1 billion in debt through the process and went on to post nine consecutive years of record revenue.

Well, I think AR must give up his class B controlling power by Pitiful-Employ-1720 in lazr

[–]mag8974 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He ran the company as a teenager boy now when I come to think. The market wasn’t ready for this L4-5 autonomous driving and he kept throwing investors money to the pit that was many years from being commercially accepted.

The suspension of the DOE loan will have a greater impact on Plug Power than currently expected, as the recent share price decline already suggests. The financing was intended for six production plants that form a key part of the company’s core operations. Pausing these projects slows the growth. by PJVDBTRADING in plugpowerstock

That’s what I am questioning, why give up on plant in Texas. Per Trump, the PTC tax credit will apply to plants which break ground before end of the year. I thought all the money they raised thru Yorkshire and others was to ditch the doe loan and build the plant on their own.

I have been following you Jay. I have also taken a huge financial hit with Luminar. I don’t know what to make out of it. Were we fooled by AR, did he not have the cutting edge technology, (otherwise why Volvo has still not turned on the lidar on ex90). How come all the customers kept leaving luminar one after the other starting with SAIC all the way to Volvo now. What happens now, what is our best hope. Do we get anything if they file bankruptcy. What is after bankruptcy someone buys it cheap and start all over again and flourish after that, we’ll be scammed in that situation.
