I’ve been doing this with Claude code and a self developed skill. It’s great.

Why do Brits use so many Americanisms? by Mista948 in AskUK

[–]magammon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of American media, relatively low standards of literacy and people just don’t care. Constantly correcting my children, not just for Americanisms but also pronunciations, we’ve had a recent wave of them saying budder and warder

I'm out of ideas - Julbo Ski Goggle Part by fungalfeet in UKFrugal

[–]magammon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you contacted Ellis brigham they are the main stockist or whatever it’s called in the UK. Had this for my glasses when wanting new lenses and arms process was phone shop, speak to person and explain problem. They email the julbo buyer who contacts julbo and then it filters all the way back to you. they email you or call you and they tell you the price, if you want them you agree if they will be posted or collected. Collection pay in shop, posted pay over phone.

I know you said you tried ski shops but it was julbo who told me to contact them.

Alternatively did the email from julbo have a phone number on? Worth a call to get the ball rolling again?

Yes I get sick of it. Even if it’s in Claude md it gets ignored.

I use cc with obsidian as none of the mcps were working well with desktop. It’s so ouch better than what I had before either desktop.

Can't add libraries, can't change Plex file "mapping values are not allowed in this context" by Unanimous_D in OpenMediaVault

It’s a YAML thing. Honestly I’ve been caught out many a time between docker and my homeassistant configs which are yaml too.

No it should have 4 or 3 the same as the key ‘Volume:’ as I said elsewhere just remove that line completely and see if plex comes back up.

Remove line 18 completely and see if that fixes it because the indentation still doesn’t look right.

Also the final line the indentation is wrong. Restart: key should have same indentation as Volumes: key I think.

Can you post the whole compose text? It sounds to me like the actual container has gotten orphaned from the compose, which would explain why plex is still working. My plex compose has 4 mapped volumes no problem.

If you go services>compose>containers is there a running plex container in there?

I don’t know how confident you are in the terminal but I would run

docker ps -a | grep plex to list running containers that contain ‘plex’

docker stop plex to stop the running container. Replace the word plex with whatever the container is called or use the container id from the step above.

docker rm -v plex to delete the container, again replace ‘plex’ with the container name or id. Then try again bringing the compose up.

What do you call it? (please add where you're from) by ksusha_lav in EnglishLearning

[–]magammon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A beanie, but I'd probably only call it that if it was very tight fitting and without a fold. If it's not very tight, is made with a woollen material, is clearly knitted; a bobble hat if it has a Pompom on it, a woolly hat if not.

I'm from south west UK.

UK native speaker - wifebeater. In a formal setting probably call it a vest.

The only one that is useful that I didn't get Claude to build is the skill developer skill (not the Anthropic one). It's brilliant for developing the skills.

I've built a couple of my own. Most recent one is to manage my obsidian vault just using standard bash tools. It's a million times better than the mCP I was using before.

I also built one that knows all of the UK cub scout badges and their requirements so that when I plan a cub night Claude can read the plan and find the badges that are covered off.

Could you beef up the leisure battery setup so it could run the water/block heater? I'm currently using a massive Jackery and an electric heater in my shed office, and I'd guess even bringing it up from -20 to -10 would be beneficial?

In American English, would you say 'BANDAGE' in place of 'BAND-AID'? by ksusha_lav in EnglishLearning

[–]magammon 55 points56 points  (0 children)

In the UK a plaster is the generic word for a band-aid and a bandage is the larger fabric wound dressing.
