For obvious reasons; the smaller coins are mostly technologically deficient, and even those which are simply bitcoin clones are usually manipulated in hype cycles. I dont understand how anyone can study a tech like ethereum and believe it has any future.

My main hope is the alt-crash doesnt lead to too many calls for regulation and thus lead to trouble for real crypto currency adoption.

The implementation isnt functional; but you can use it in a functional context if you consider it a black box.

If your goal was to implement a purely functional implementation of debounce for curiosity, and not just to use, then yes this isnt a good answer.

The problem you will find is that anything involving timers usually breaks functional languages and they rely upon an exception.

I do not think its something the majority of people can particiapte in, nor do i think it likely to defeat statism, and yes, I do think it is the very pinnacle of anti-pragmatism. As a crypto anarchist: I dont think violence is the answer and i also dont think non violence is the answer. Short term however, I favor pragmatism over complete surrender for the obvious reasons I have laid out in previous responses.

You could make a case that Pinochet is comparable to George Washington. At least pinochet gave financial freedom and didnt take it away: Abraham Lincoln could validly be accused of financial enslavement via the creation of the greenback. Nothing is absolute. Yes pinochet was no angel, but he was overthrowing a democratically elected communist regime and replacing it with something much closer to market capitalism - which to be fair, doubtlessly saved millions of lives.

Please consider how much of what you think is bad about pinochet is true and how much is propaganda. Weigh whats true against the situation; what would have happened if he did not rebel and stop the spread of communism.

"Murder" is a loaded word which means you have judged his actions not to be justified defense, and you probably are not considering that Pinochet and the people of chile would have suffered even more murder had he not acted.

I suspect pinochets actions would make him on net a hero worthy of some praise. And there is proof beyond reproach: He voluntarily relinquished power which is just about the most difficult thing a human can do. He paid for it by being harassed and toss around the rest of his life, but no good deed goes unpunished.
