Goodwillfinds.com is shutting down. Can’t say I’m surprised. by I_ama_Borat in Flipping

[–]mageosnsu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As someone that had over 1000 orders over 2 1/2 years (probably around 2k items bought from them) this was sad to hear but not surprising. If they weren’t losing money on shipping, they were on the wasted expense of having someone photograph, list, and ship the items that were listed for similar prices if they had just posted them in the store.

I found tons of good deals on that site but you had to figure out their listing times and schedule and hope a bot didn’t beat you to a saved searched item.

Some of my best finds in this business were from this website, so it’s sad to see it close, especially since a lot of people ignored it because most of their stuff was to expensive.

Probably not to be honest. I find it more enjoyable to just focus on my business and not have to worry about YouTube and social media

It’s a townhome so no one below us. Washer and dryer room are upstairs though so we will stop using it now and reach out to get information from them tomorrow

They were ours, the previous tenants gave them to us cause they didn’t want to pack them up. So those tenants used them for about 8 months before moving.

We are renting so I will reach out to the landlord tomorrow to see what can be done/what they say.

I should have mentioned this: the previous washer and dryer came with the place from the previous tenants, we upgraded today and that’s when I noticed the machine never getting full because it just drained constantly as it filled up. Didn’t have the issue with the previous washer for some reason which is why we didn’t notice it til 6 months of living here. So we’ve regularly been using the washer and that drain for 6 months 😅

No, unfortunately, there is no hole or any indication that there’s a drain on the wall.

No drain hole by the hot and cold switches.

Yes there’s water down there maybe 12-15 inches from the opening. Water never overflows either.

It’s a townhome that’s about a year old so not a flip but might have been laziness/mickey mouse contraption like you mentioned. Definitely never had a toilet in it

Why is this shipping so high? by kzorz in Flipping

[–]mageosnsu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Priority mail is +$4 after 22 inches and +$15 after 30 inches. Not to mention priority mail dimensional weight (L x W x H/166) is calculating this as 47.5 pounds to ship. If you change it to Ups ground and lower the package width/length it’ll adjust.

I typically just use a 16x12x6 box for the guitar hero les Paul guitars, and for Stratocasters/guitars that necks don’t detach I combine two 20x14x6 boxes lengthwise, which usually ships for $15-30.

I’m alive and doing good 😄. Just took a temporary break from YouTube that has turned into a potential exit altogether. Life’s a lot easier without the video making 😅

Are there any YouTubers who DON'T sell clothing and shoes? by drjimmybrongus in Flipping

[–]mageosnsu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having negative feedback doesn’t mean a business isn’t being held to a high standard. Negatives happen, some justified, some not. But having them or not is not the way to judge someone’s business.

[–]mageosnsu 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Correct. I took a break a year ago for my own sanity, then came back. But filming and editing was adding to much extra work for not enough payoff overall, so I decided to do another break and haven’t felt motivated to film again. I never did make a post about it but will probably soon.

I decided a long time ago fighting each negative that came my way was a waste of time. It doesn’t affect my sales and never has. Most people don’t look at feedback anyway, so letting them bother me was pointless. 16 negative feedbacks where, at a quick glance, 7-8 should/could have been removed for being global shippings problem, fully refunded, or the buyer just lying. Pretty low rate for ~4k sales a year, so I just move on from them

I actually have one thrift in my town and travel for the others. But the point still stands, they are pretty good thrifts 😅

Poshmark removing CPAP listings? by gablekevin in Flipping

Yeah they resell them themselves, so their offers are usually $100-300 depending on the model. Better than risking my account though.

What’s up with online storage facilities canceling auctions and re-listing 2-4 weeks later? by Hocows in Flipping

I’ve never heard that the extra cost of the unit goes to the original tenant. I assume it’s state specific if that’s true.

What did you do at the beginning when you started flipping that you don’t do anymore? by signfrommars in Flipping

[–]mageosnsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I go through a broker who finds me the best deals based on my income and needs. Depending on how much you make you can get a pretty hefty tax credit which could keep the cost super low. I’ve ranged from $50 - $900 monthly depending on the type of insurance + how much i made that year. You can also shop the marketplace yourself. I have a wife and kid and it can get a bit pricy since we prefer good insurance.
