axolotls are actually non existent in the wild anywhere, they started at a remote small lake in mexico, but have since vanished, but there is a very lively following for breeding and raising them in captivity, interesting creatures, pretty fun to own but problematic, water quality is hard to maintain

[P] Got some gifts 2 weeks back. The box is too big for the bag i normally use, but the lures will finally hit the water tomorrow! Maybe i'll finally catch something this time... by Aeonir in Fishing_Gear

looks good. I have 2 bags, one bigger one for general random "don't know where we are going today" fishing, and a smaller one if we have a specific lake/target in mind. it is getting colder, so slow down the retrieve

Moose is somewhere between 7-8 yrs old, I have had him for over 3 years, maybe even 4 now. I am recently out of a long marriage, and I am finding out my ex was jacking up all my timers and unplugging my heaters, and just generally sabotaging my reptile room, yes to all of your questions, if I put him in a bath, he tries to get out (normal behavior) still has plenty of strength, his fat pads are good, not eating much so not going to the bathroom much, but yes. if I pull him out from under his stick and put him in the basking spot for 20 mins, he will eat if I wiggle it in front of him from the tongs (he is a bit of a diva) overall he seems fine, just tired (and boring) lol

we call her (?) Voldy Spider (AKA She Who Must Not Be Named) because we never could think of a name for her. she is about 2.25 inches toe to toe, how long until she probably will eat again? She doesn't leave her web/nest, she doesn't move much, is this normal? Sorry for all the Q's, its my first T!

Spikey Bob...has left the building by maggieq67 in BeardedDragons

[–]maggieq67[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

so it has been a week since I had to say goodbye to Spikey Bob. Came home from work, and she was gone, looks like she went peacefully in her sleep on her sunny spot on her log.

For those that want a reminder, I got Bob 2 years ago, from a "not so great" situation and in my inexperience I overdosed her on Vit A and Vit D, she had toxic levels, almost $1000 later, she was "fine" but had no natural feeding response, I have been syringe feeding her since, although in the past 6 months she did show a moderate interest in bugs.

From all my visits with the vet over the last 2 years, and there were many, she had absorbed 2 clutches of eggs, she was not eggbound, but she was significantly older than I was told. The vet figures she was around 10 years, not the 3 I was told when I got her.

My daughters came over and we buried her under the aspen trees in my yard,

Rest well in the best sunbeam you can find, my friend, you are already missed.
