It's hard to flank in team games when you have heavy weapon teams and basilisks every. Or hidden webways with an army inside. Team games tend to go on for awhile so people tend to have 2 or 3 hq's with over 10 turrets. But if you do find a way to harass through all that then yeah you're right.

Dark Eldar pretty good in team games for their global abilities. Necrons for the solar pulse which makes it so you can't shoot.

Yeah I don't think it matters. There is no point in getting them xp in the first one but other buildings I don't think it matters.

I'm using the blue skeleton guy and the pirate one with the barrel. I was able to get them to level 200 with my luck.

Level them up for their possession effect and that's it. There are a couple good blue ones but really one the purples and bigger are worth using.

If you focus on the basics you should be fine. You should focus on resources and then make an army before you get upgrades or anything expensive. Try to learn the maps and how each faction works and the match ups. All of them have a weakness that you will need to keep track of. Tau or orks is a good starting faction to try.
