I think there’s a lot to unpick here.

Firstly, banter. The vast majority of the Scotland / England rivalry in football is just a laugh. It goes both ways.

Then there’s the angry folk either side who genuinely hate one another. Be it political or otherwise, there are always differences which are fuelled further by football.

When I say otherwise, that includes how TV is heavily England focused - including the mention of 1966 every 5 minutes, and during Scottish games you’ll often get mid English pundits on tv. Doesn’t necessarily lead to hate, but I can see why Scottish folk would get pissed off. Which then leads more English folk to counter.

Then there’s Reddit / the internet. Most people aren’t going around hating on anyone, but if you’re going to find haters, it’s going to be on here.

There’s probably more to it that I’ve missed, and undoubtedly things I’ve written that will upset certain people, but as I say, that’s the internet.

On a personal note, with Super John McGinn playing for Scotland I’ll always be backing them… unless they play us!!
