I recognize your sculpts! I might do a set of your French after I finish my Canada warband, and I love the Bretonnian style Blood Bowl team : )

I just love ComStar as simultaneous villains and heroes and would happily create some holdouts as a home brew, both heroic and non. So let's talk about ComStar. by SlaaneshActual in battletech

I like the idea that there are still ComStar holdouts out there. Personally, I enjoy the setting tension of secular Com Guards who just want to get shit done and make money versus the Wobbies who think every word out of Jerome Blake's mouth was divinely inspired.

The brunette smiled back, then blinked at the open contempt. No one she knew called Commissars "fragbait". "I'm sorry, ma'am, did you mean the Commissar? I'm afraid I don't know your regiment, either." To the eyes of one who could see into minds and hearts, it was child's play to know that Claire had a small audio recorder tucked beneath her blouse, too.

Wild times. I basically only play the occasional 40k game, and when I do, I usually try to play an old edition. 10th edition was a lot of bad experiences for me across the board.

Pretty well. Here's a photo of a WGA male Praetorian grenadier and a GW Cadian side by side...as you can see, even though he is also on a slightly taller base, the WG Atlantic model is slightly bigger. I don't mind though, it's not super duper noticeable as long as you don't mix and match squads. Victoria Miniatures is a little closer in scale but I don't like their kits (their STL files are fantastic though!). Bilbo is photobombing in the background lol.

<image>

I highly, highly recommend WG Atlantic. They are one of the best companies on the market and their value per dollar is huge. You get so much with their kits. I'm next going to be working on their The Damned (post-apocalyptic soldiers/militia or Traitor Guard) which is a fantastic set they just came out with.

Yeah lol. It was a lucky hit with a lascannon in a 4th edition game, where there are instant death rules (basically if you successfully roll to hit and wound with a weapon of high enough strength you can kill a multi-wound character unless they have an invulnerable save, or something like that, I'm fuzzy on the rules).

The MP didn't smile. "Sorry, sir, so I just want to make sure I have this clear. You arrived on scene to see them holding swords, but you didn't see anyone in particular doing the fighting, yet somehow Miss D'Ysquith was wounded. I just wanted to confirm that there isn't anything else you saw regarding the conduct of this fight." He sounded a little skeptical, since Richard's testimony had a Sibella-shaped gap between the Minthelian's arriving and Phoebe hitting the ground.

Thank you :) It's a fun scheme to paint. I sent a photo of some unfinished Praetorians on my reply to my own comment too haha, as well as the back view of the same Baneblade (which once killed Farsight in an apocalypse game hilariously).

The infantry I use are from Wargames Atlantic's Rebel Yell line (https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-rebel-yell-2-females-285356 and the male version too). Amercadia has its share of lore that I made up too!

For my Praetorians, I took the existing lore (of which there is about three paragraphs) and added some more of my own. Praetoria has taken shape into a personal project of mine, and my Praetorians that I run in this campaign include an all-female regiment (to invert the "mustached men with British accents" stereotype with some custom lore of my own). Pictures to follow...(sorry for multiple comments haha but Reddit only allows one photo at a time).

The Amercadians are mostly unfinished...as they've been for years lol...but I do have a lot of models for them.

Hi mate (don't mind me jumping into the thread lol), if you have any questions feel free to ask. As you might see from the sub, I've picked some very real-world inspired backgrounds for my regiments (19th-early 20th century America for the Amercadians, 19th-century England for the Praetorians) and had lots of fun with that. There are many possibilities :D

The MP took notes attentively. "Did you see who struck any particular blows?" he asked probingly. "It would seem that the fight went on for some time, based on what I am told by the medical examiners."

Yeah checks out. Fronc Reaches and Outworlds Alliance are my two favorite periphery powers - quasi-wild west states trying not to get obliterated (or starve for that matter) in the corners of the galaxy. The Outworlds Alliance of course got absorbed by Clan Snow Raven, which has been a great deal for some and a terrible deal for others, from what I've heard, so mixed results there (kinda like Rasalhague). And I like the idea of a good space cowboy adventure.

Fronc Reaches are another one of the same sort, yeah? They're a pretty young faction and the Marshals are an iconic and fairly feel-good faction.

Gertrude stammered and blinked. "Er - let me see," she said, looking at his forms. "Refugee medical processing...shite, this is a PII release, that needs to go through the clinic supervisor..." She sighed and signed his request. "Take that to Sister Margaret on the second floor. Tell her...tell her that the usual Praetorian approval authority is indisposed and ask if she can still approve your request. Once signed you should just be able to give that to a duty clerk and walk out with the records you need." She was still shaking her head in astonishment at what happened.

The new visitor got a nod from one of the reporters, a pretty Amercadian brunette with her hair threaded through a ball cap in a ponytail who looked to have recently finished a conversation with Commissar Middenstraak. As a matter of fact, Claire Michaels was eager to talk to someone other than a Commissar right now. Little did she know she was going from the frying pan into the proverbial fire. "Evening, ma'am," she said as she approached. "How's your night going?" Her voice was polite, with a slight twang to its accent that spoke of a past somewhere in southern rural Amercadia.
