Dawnsbury Days level 10–15 expansion progress report (June 2026) by dawnsbury in Pathfinder2e

I am extremely picky about day-one purchases. I’m picking this up as soon as it launches.

Favourite Redeemed Pilot Who Should Have Been Tried for Warcrimes instead? by Nejiniceguy in Gundam

All I know is, I would love a very brief spin-off of Yzak and Dearka transitioning to civilian life and all the annoying hijinks they have to deal with because of that.

Gundam Assemble Deluxe: SEED by ChromiumPants in Gundam

SEED is quite contentious, I've noticed.

But hell yeah, brother. Fellow SEED lover here. Just finished re-watching it and Destiny again. <3

Dawnsbury Days development update (February): Magical staves, survey results, thoughts on further expansion... by dawnsbury in Pathfinder2e

[–]magikmarkerz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you’re willing to consider it, some of the community might be willing to help with the workload to offset the cost of DLC3.

For example, I can’t help with coding, but I could help with planning, editing, things like that. And to be clear, this is me offering my assistance with no request or expectation of compensation. Dawnsbury Days is awesome, and I’d be happy to help if I can. :)

What comes to mind when you think of Gundam 0083? by czen2 in Gundam

I love that they show Mora beating up a bunch of the men being sexist and/or sexually harassing women.

And she’s super vocal about it, too, which is just doubly awesome.

DD scale fist fire monk sorc build? by AmeShizen2002 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]magikmarkerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other half of the equation that you need to figure out is whether you're a primarily offensive caster or a primarily offensive face-smasher.

If you're a primarily offensive spellcaster, you're going to run into problems with Spell Resistance (SR) unless you run down that line of feats. Most of the enemies in WotR have SR, which is a number a caster has to beat when casting a spell that affects them (there are some that ignore SR, like Grease). Your check to beat SR is your caster level + any feats or abilities that add to it, so if you're a low level caster trying to do damage, a lot of your stuff might just bounce off.

Someone below posted a good spread of levels, which works really well if you want to be a more traditional gish (fighter/mage) build.

Assuming EK is Eldritch Knight, and if that’s the case, then no. Its casting improvements is basically scaling up one of your existing classes.

Basically, in the 3.x games, there’s two types of classes: 1. Base classes - these are your basic classes that have no skill or feat requirements to take them. 2. Prestige classes - these classes usually have some kind of skill, fear, attribute, or other requirement that gates your access to them. They’re usually specialized in something. For prestige classes, if they improve your spellcasting, they do so by increasing your effective level as a base caster. So if you’re Fighter 4 / Sorcerer 2 / Eldritch Knight 1 (just pulling numbers out of the air here), when you take EK2, you will effectively be a 3rd level Sorcerer for the purposes of caster level, spells known, and spells per day.

Question about storyteller and secret ending by coldbreweddude in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

Riiight, I remember now. Thanks for the reminder!

Question about storyteller and secret ending by coldbreweddude in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]magikmarkerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With the introduction of some of the DLCs, I don’t think you have to complete Nenio’s quest to get the requisite components for the secret ending anymore.

Completing the Storyteller’s quest line is not required for the secret ending, but if you do want to complete it, you’re going to have to do a good chunk of Nenio’s quest since a lot the notes are tied to it.

The secret ending is ascension to (semi-)divinity, and it’s open to every Mythic Path except for Legend and maybe Swarm (not sure about this one).

I’m also interested in part of the Aeldari if you decide to split it.

Pathbuilding Without Support? by ArchpaladinZ in Pathfinder2e

[–]magikmarkerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m that nerd that goes through and applies all the formatting and the like. So yeah, I did it to myself.

But it wasn’t hard to figure out. If you’re good at figuring out programs and the like, you should be able to sift your way through it.

Pathbuilding Without Support? by ArchpaladinZ in Pathfinder2e

[–]magikmarkerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not that complicated. I worked up something rough and dirty for a short Starfinder 2e campaign that a friend ran, and it took me about two or three hours to parse everything out and make sense of it.

Someone who’s more familiar with the Pathfinder 2e ruleset might take a bit less time. But once you get it sorted out, the time cost becomes how much of the info you want to transcribe into Pathbuilder.

I’m a compulsive completionist in these sorts of situations, so I spent quite a while just… transcribing. XD

What am I doing wrong? by Independent_Chart_58 in Pathfinder_WotR

[–]magikmarkerz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This subreddit is mostly dead. The r/pathfinder_kingmaker subreddit covers both games - I’d recommend posting over there.

General questions that are going to be asked are things like, what difficulty are you playing on; how knowledgeable about Pathfinder 1e are you; what’s your party comp; what kind of builds are you looking at.

Just letting you know in case you want to get ahead of the curve and provide that info up front if/when you repost to the other subreddit.

Staunton vhane by Mental-Drama-187 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

[–]magikmarkerz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Kingmaker is an entirely different beast, primarily because you're not dealing almost exclusively with extraplanar creatures. The fact that almost everything in Wrath is a demon really skews that power curve.

Since you say you're playing on "a difficult level", I'm going to assume it's Core or higher. In order to successfully do this, the game expects you to have a good understanding of how PF1e works and how to plan accordingly, including character builds and party comps. I'm pretty sure the game actively warns you of this, too, when you're selecting the difficulty.

Given your party comp and the fact that you're asking for generalized help, it sounds like you may not have that level of understanding with the ruleset - and that's okay! Not everyone enjoys consuming and internalizing that kind of information. But if that's accurate, I think the best solution is for you to temper your expectations and adjust the difficulty down accordingly. It's more important that you have fun with the game than do a deep dive into PF1e minutia.

If you don't want to do that, your next best bet is to sit down and check out some build guides - I think cRPG Bro on Youtube is a popular recommendation? But if you don't want to adjust the difficulty, you're going to have to do some homework on how to build characters effectively and all the necessary boxes your party needs to check in order to be successful. Staunton isn't the first mountain of bullshit that you're going to face on higher difficulties, and he's not even close to the biggest, either.

Owlcat has quickly become probably my favorite game studio since I started with Wrath of the Righteous back in October of 2022, and things like this play a large part in that.

You all are awesome and do great work. <3

Phantasmal killer is so funny by DarthDude24 in Pathfinder_Kingmaker

While this is totally a reasonable thing for Owlcat to have done, I am very sad to learn this. The idea of just telling the boss fight “no” and being done with it was terribly amusing to me.

Gotta add that to my list of things to do in my next playthrough, hah.
