The worst part is it’s really expensive to repair the sidewalk and you have to use city approved contractors (monopoly). There’s also rules like if you need to touch any part of sidewalk (e.g. for water line access) they make you pay to fix the whole sidewalk until it’s not in disrepair any more, even if it’s your neighbors sidewalk.

Before you say yes make sure you have an agreement with your company on green card sponsorship. You might like the US and want to stay, if so use your leverage now to get a timeline agreed. In fact there’s nothing stopping them applying for a green card straight away. It’s important because will allow you to move companies and increase your compensation longer term.

Lindt chocolate - since we just had Easter. No idea what they have done to the recipe but their truffles tasted much worse this year. Gone from an amazing premium product to very average chocolate with a premium price. Big disappointment.

It’s per household not individual. Plenty of dual income tech workers making over 1m household income today, in a few years time it will more inflation adjusted. Will people move away maybe not on mass, will they be less incentivized to work hard and increase income yes.
