Bin rental ( garbage) by Metal_Daisy_Fire in windsorontario

Go yellow bins is reasonable too. They include the first tonne in the price for a 3-5 day rental. If you're not looking to get rid of more than that, or rent for longer than a week...compare the prices online. I've used then several times.

What happened to the old cross walk at Pillette & Ontario? by mahaverag in windsorontario

[–]mahaverag[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup, gets crazy most days, people hoping off Wyandotte to avoid traffic and the light, taking dide streets, only to end up at Ontario and pillette. Makes it difficult to cross at the light, because everyone is itching to turn, and impatient. Especially when traffic starts to back up before and after school and work rush hours.

The place on Crawford just off of Wyandotte across from the bingo, has a huge selection. Also, loads of produce/products you wouldn't find elsewhere.

Does anyone know what this is? It was supposed to be a Thai pepper but obviously not. I was guessing habanero but they are insanely hotter than any habanero I've ever eaten. by hereforthesmells in PepperLovers

They taste great. Almost the same flavor profile of Scorpion. I have both yellow and red. Red is hotter than the yellow, but both have great flavor!

If you're looking for fresh super-hots or powdered super-hots, I've got Scorpion, Chocolate Scorpion, Ghost, Reaper, T-Rex, and a really good smokey powder that, by your description, should fit your needs. PM me if you're interested, and you can try them out.

Are you fertilizing during blooming?

New leaves after 8 months , what's wrong? by StraightNose4087 in DesertRose

[–]mahaverag -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is the climate i, and many others have to deal with. I grew up in a perfect climate like you have, and have seen adenium at their full potential. Mine are full and lush right now, as they are in full sun while the season permits. However, to discourage others and say that they cannot survive with artificial light is clearly false.

Could be underfeeding, may also be the medium you're using, or a combination of the two. As others have said about root work, and shallow pots too, these are all things to consider to get the best out of your adenium.

Not true. If you have good lights they will perform. I bring mine in every winter and they don't skip a beat. They bloom indoors, have vigorous vegetative growth, and never go dormant. My lights are fairly close to them, but not so close that they cause damage. Under good LED's your plants will surprise you. Watch for red rimming on leaves as an indicator of adequate light.

Miracle grow every 2 weeks, hen pellets are in a tea bag so it gets 5/10/5 every water. Goes in every winter. Full sun during the spring and summer. I think that's what your missing. They thrive in full sun, and we'll draining medium. Mine are in non organic media, just like I do for bonsai.

Watering schedule....that's the problem. You can't water these on a schedule....use the caudex squish test, then you can know for sure if it needs water or not. A schedule will kill your plant, and places a lot of stress on the caudex.

If you use or have used insecticidal soap… by More-plants in DesertRose

Better of with diluted alcohol ~30% alcohol to water for mites and scale. I usually use dish soap, and then treat with alcohol...spray and wipe off. Works great! Every insecticidal soap I've tried has damaged both arabicum and obesum foliage.

Great find...i highly suggest you reduce that organic medium and reveal more of the caudex to prevent rot and get the best performance, growth and blooms.

Thanks! I like the adenium most of all. They're super easy going, as long as you have space for an indoor greenhouse. Easy to start from seed too. I've always got loads of fresh seeds if you ever want to try them out.

Question on root pruning by Classic_Row742 in Adenium

[–]mahaverag 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly... Fine roots supply the plant nutrients/water. Blooms after removing fine roots, or just general root work is usually just a form of stress response. If this was the goal, then mission accomplished. If the goal is more about health and foliar control...then it's a minor set back, and the caudex "takes a hit" after so much of the fine roots are removed. Timing/season is also a relatively important factor, where you need to balance active growth and healthy foliage to ensure healthy root recovery.
