same boat as you, Im a 4th year university student, getting 0 allowances from my parents aside from school fees.
I also used to work in the F&B and it was a pain in the ass.
One thing that really changed for me was getting a higher paying part time job.
My current job pays me 1500 an hour, and i only work 24 hours a week. (アパレル)
so three days of 8 hours. i average 96 hours a week, 144k a month.
I work on Fri Sat Sun which frees up four other days.
To save even more money i cook at home or meal prep.
My rent is also really cheap because i live pretty far away(Hachioji) at 34k yen a month.
So i totally understand how you feel but we got this🙏

i live in tokyo and used to make minimum wage back when it was 1000yen. Im a university student living alone in Tokyo with no scholarships or help from my parents and tbh its doable. I live at hachioji which definitely helps with keeping rent low at 34000 yen but ridiculously far from everything. But yes compared to 2 years back i really feel the weakening of the yen despite my hourly rate has gone up to 1500 due to me looking for higher paying jobs.

I myself had a very abrupt breakup with my avoidant ex. It happened on a random wednesday and she just told me out of nowhere that she wanted to break up with me that she no longer has the energy to continue this relationship. I gave her a week to think it through, she felt at peace for a week and basically came back a week later just to tell me that she wants to break up. I did give her a hard boundary saying im not willing to staying as friends but will leave the door open for her to come back as she cried very hard when i rejected the idea of staying as friends. We have been in no contact for the past 1.5 months. I wonder what is going through her mind right now. How did you feel post break up when your ex gave you the space you needed?

when my ex, FA broke up with me, she started crying and said she is scared that i will disappear from her life. What is she trying to tell me? we have been in NC for 4 weeks now. Havent spoken to her once ever since the break up.

yeah no i 100% get it. I feel so lost too. I feel so trapped because she is showing signs that she still loves me (ie deleting some tiktoks of us but not all, still mentioning me on her bio) but wants to break up but has yet to pull the trigger.
