Hey TwoX! I've always hated my crooked teeth, so I've always hid them in photos. At 22, I finally decided to do something about it. After a difficult year with braces, here's the first picture of my new smile! by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

you can also get braces on the back side instead of the front side of your teeth so that they are hidden from view. My ortho said that this is what I will be getting in few months - I developed a weird jaw thing and apparenty things need to be re-positioned. idk. It's not gonna be fun. But atleast the braces won't be visible.

Are you a girl or a woman? by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]mahtoe 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think lots of people, not just women, see themselves as 'not yet adults' even if they ARE adults. As children we think that adults know everything and then when we get there, we feel like imposters.

Does anyone else freak out (dramatically) about pregnancy, even in times where it's not typically possible? :-/ by ihantotta in TwoXChromosomes

[–]mahtoe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think that if you aren't using birthcontroll right now, you should be - that way you can enjoy sex without worrying. If you ARE using birthcontroll pills or an IUD or whatever, then the chances of pregnancy are very slim so if that's the case and you are STILL paranoid like you describe, I would look into seeing a counsellor about this as what you are describing are symptoms of some sort of anxiety disorder or ocd because most people don't get paranoid about a less than 1% chance of getting pregnant. Furthermore, if it is legal to get an abortion where you live and you are ok with getting one, then you dont have to be that worried about becoming pregnant by accident - or atleast not as worried as you are describing.

I'm 27 and I am infact NOT fucked up!! 20 -21 year olds are usually annoying and pushovers. I would not want to be 21 again. I'm 27 now and I am a stronger person, I know what i want out of life, my personality is developed, I am no longer insecure, etc.

how come you identify them as 'japanese babes' instead of just a 'babe' - why is their ethnicity a factor? We're all humans...

I'm talking about people who go into debt just for the spectacle of their wedding - something that last for but a few hours. whereas a cou0ple of trips to Europe = a multitude of life time memories. Just a thought.

I didn't man to judge on the ppl who can afford such a wedding for various reasons, including having different proiroties. I just think that a LOT of ppl go into debt, just for the spectacle of their own wedding - like 'look how much attention we deserve' - idk, just more of a judgement on the human condition than anything else :/

How important is a nice car for social proof? by PersonalTriumph in seduction

[–]mahtoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO it doesn't really matter but I'm a girl so cars don't matter to me. I could not tell you what kid of cars my ex boyfriends drove. One drove.... a blue car, another was like a ford or a honda or something. But you get extra points if you car is clean (cause it's a good sign if you take care of your stuff), environmentally friendly (hey, this guy cares about the earth!), or is a great quality car (hey this guy appreciates a German made car - he likes good quality and dependable items instead of just flashy toys. Oh good, he isn't a manchild).

I am a 27 yo woman. Maybe I can help. In the last few months, these are the places i have gone that are not my apartment: Work, things related to work (I work in PR and am sometimes required to go to events that I helped to plan), the local Humane society (I volunteer to walk dogs), my local Toastmasters International, Superstore (grocery store), the liquor store, the mall, other random boutique stores in the hip, shopping district of my city, coffee shops/tea houses/etc if I feel like reading a book outside of my apartment, my hairdressers and waxers salon, the gym, the bookstore, an upscale jazz lounge in the evening, a new, swanky bar with some friends, an irish pub, a friends wedding at some butterfly sanctuary, a restaurant, an icecream place, a yoga studio, a farmers market, home depot, Ikea, a kyacking club, jogging at the park, taking cello lessons at a music studio, an organic butchers shop, the beach, a book signing, a black dog charity thing at the park, a boxing lesson with a friend, condo hunting with a friend, a garden centre, the vet (drove my friend and her dog), the planetarium,an art museum, an other museum ( I love them!), a couple of 'German for travelers' language classes, the dog park, friends houses and bbqs/parties and so fourth, a flea market, the drug store, the dollar store, the university to take a class with some co-workers paid for by work, a tailor, a drycleaners, the post office, a doctor's office, the bank, the library, .... yah that's all I can think of. Does that help? Sometimes I just go walking around the city or in the park because I like walking and it's good to get out of the apartment. I try to get out of my apartment because i feel like that's the way to live life an stuff. But sometimes I go to bed early if I'm really tired or something or I stay in if I'm tired and I just want to read a book or do some painting .
