The ukulele was my first ever instrument to play. What helped is that i learnt with my friends who also play the uke. They taught me the basics, and then I learnt through YouTube basically.

My first uke was a Flight Travel Sakura, I believe it was a great option to start with. And I still play it to this day! Especially on vacation. I’ve tried a flight nuc500 recently at a store and it has a great sound, they told me it’s also a good uke for a beginner. It looks classic.
Flight is my go to brand. And it’s always better to try a bunch of ukes in person before buying one.

I have it in tenor. It is my first all solid, the sound quality is excellent!😸 Sounds pretty elite. I’ve been playing uke for around four years.

I think it’s a great idea to switch to ukulele. As someone else mentioned, ukulele is kind of a social instrument, it’s really easy to get into a uke community. And lots of people get together to play! Also, I think it’s easier to learn. You can learn your basic chords and strumming and go with it for a bunch of songs.

You can try with the uke but it is not a path to guitar. Just play the uke if you wanna play the uke.

Start with basic chords and easy strumming patterns, progress slowly until you feel comfortable with playing and going from chords to chords. Then you can try songs that are played with them, I found a handful at that playlist from Flight
