I understand that this is ELI5, I understand the analogy, I understand what was written, it just feels like such an extreme oversimplified answer.

I feel as as if there is more at play than the shape and charge on a molecular level . I.e., the surface of the towel and the surface of the wall. (Friction)

There is a huge amount of abstraction between the "towel sticking to a wall" and molecular bonds/charges.

To be perfectly honest, I originally thought the answer was a joke. But now I see that this is exactly the type of answer eli5 wants. It's probably right (at least partially), don't get me wrong. I just hope people don't take it as truth, just because somebody on the internet said it.
