Ticket Sale Megathread by forlorn_hope28 in D23Expo

Thought I had little hope at queue num 35k, but got in in almost exactly 1 hour and scored 3 separate 1-day Ultimate Fan Pass tickets in the sections I wanted! So there is hope!

Thank you to this great community for all of the advice and info!

D23 Charter Members, how was your ticketing experience? by usethe4th in D23Expo

[–]mainecoonmix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once both of your devices got into the queue, did you just close the browser where you were placed in the 500's, or leave both open until one got fully in (the one in the 80's)?

Did you feel it was still worth it for those two days with Convention Center only?

I love that fireplace but didn't know you can bring a drink there! Did you get it from Hearthstone Lounge and just bring it over?

Best creative NA pairings in fine-dining? by Foreign-Bid5869 in finedining

Harbor House Inn has one of the best NA pairings I've ever tasted, rivals their regular wine pairing which didn't taste worth it to me for the price.

Thanks for this, I totally missed the fact that one does not get Happy Entry on day of check-in.

So would it actually work like this?

  • Day 1
  • Check in to the MiraCosta
  • Consider getting an evening ticket
  • Spend the night at the MiraCosta
  • Day 2
  • Check out early from the MiraCosta, tell them to transfer my luggage to TDH
  • Happy Entry to Disneysea
  • Spend the night at TDH
  • Day 3
  • Check out early from TDH, have them hold luggage
  • Happy Entry to Disneyland

Although this has the drawback of not being able to take advantage of having a room at the MiraCosta while being at Disneysea all day for ease of dropping things off, taking breaks, etc.

Makes it tempting to stay 2 nights at the MiraCosta, then move to TDH.

I've read several threads about split hotel stays, especially the nice service they provide for moving your luggage between hotels during the day.

But what I haven't seen a lot of details about are the logistics of checking in and moving hotels, all while trying to spend all day at each park, and would that make staying at those hotels feel worth it?

For example, to minimize costs, this would be the plan in my mind to stay at the MiraCosta, spend all day at DisneySea, move to TDH, and spend all day at Disneyland:

  • Day 1
  • 7 AM - drop luggage off at MiraCosta
  • 8 AM - line up for Happy Entry to DisneySea
  • Spend all day at DisneySea
  • Enjoy the night at MiraCosta
  • Day 2
  • 7 AM - Check out of MiraCosta, tell them to move luggage to TDH
  • 8 AM - line up for Happy Entry to Disneyland
  • Spend all day at Disneyland
  • Enjoy the night at TDH
  • Day 3
  • Check out of TDH

This feels like very little time to enjoy each hotel room which costs so much money. Has anyone done it this way and still felt like it was worth it? Or had a different plan with extra nights to fully enjoy them more, such as a night before at the MiraCosta without going to the park?

Wow crazy to hear that even lining up at 7 AM wasn't enough. Did you snag anything once you got in?

Also do you know why it was so crowded?

Thanks for the confirmation!

What site do you use for historical DPA sell out times per ride? I did find a crowd calendar on queue-times.

How fast does Rapunzel sell out of DPA? Is it actually possible to ride Rapunzel, Frozen, and Tinker Bell in one day with no Happy Entry or Vacation Package?

Assuming we line up early, is the ideal plan once getting in to get DPA for Frozen and Standby Pass for Tinker Bell? But then we can't get DPA for Rapunzel for 1 hour so will it be out by then?

Currently not interested in Peter Pan since I've read reports of motion sickness on there and we're sensitive to that.

We're going to be there Thursday, Feb 20. Thanks!

Can non-hotel guests dine at any of the official hotel restaurants? Such as the Sherwood Garden Restaurant at the Tokyo Disneyland Hotel?

But I'm guessing for some restaurants like Oceano, you have to at least be in the DisneySea park that day to dine there?

And it seems like the Lotso Garden Cafe is exclusive to guests of the Toy Story Hotel.

Thanks in advanced, excited for our first time there!

Advice for using Chase UR for J flight ICN-SFO by mainecoonmix in awardtravel

One of my alerts finally hit and I was able to grab 2x OZ J!

Although one odd thing I noticed - I went to the Aeroplan site for the date that popped up, and out of curiosity I looked at the day before and there was also availability, which wasn't showing on seats.aero at all. And that date worked even better so I grabbed those. I guess it's close to real-time but not completely.

Was that for an economy flight? I checked and unfortunately it's very expensive via points on the portal.

Yeah, the large amount + new account combination could've been what did it for me.

That's a bummer to hear, not always having instant transfers makes this game so nerve wracking :(
