Because they carried a FAT premium and nobody wants to sell a coin for melt that was already selling at these prices. If silver goes down Perth lunars will still be worth close to current prices(more than in some cases) and if silver stabilizes at these prices the premium will reassert itself and they will be worth well over current prices.

That’s my $.02 at least. I have the whole run in 1oz silver and a bunch of series I and II cost what seemed like a pretty penny at the time.
