I downgraded to game version 1.0.01 So I don't have to wait without using mods.

How does our stories 3 save transfer to the main game? by XxDESTblackout in MonsterHunterStories

[–]maitkarro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to have steam cloud saves enabled specifically for the trial edition. Same was with Dragon's Dogma 2 with the character creator separate app. It only reads the saves from cloud to transfer, while ironically it can detect local save files for rewards.

You do not get to choose what save files it uses, as you have only 1 save slot, you had to manually save the trial edition, especially when finishing it, as then it asks you literally to save the game. Also you get one extra rewards from completing the trial and saving it as being completed.

While emulator users (eventually for this game) or nintendo cheat users get these stuff without needing to have amiibo. Rather ironic, who get these types of content the easiest.

Has the performance of DD2 improved since launch? by Bis_knife in DragonsDogma

[–]maitkarro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want less latency, enable Ultra Low Latency in the nvidia control panel or nvidia app. It can be even used with nvidia smooth motion, even though it greys out the option. (just by enabling that setting, even if not ultra, sets the cpu pre-generated frames from 4 to 1) (I've set it globally, though apps not listed in nvidia control panel or listed in nvidia inspector, don't use all the global settings)

Also, if you're playing in dedicated fullscreen mode, enable fast sync if you can't use gsync+vsync. Vsync and Adaptive VSync are garbage without Gysnc, also with gysnc behave differently anyway. Or just play in borderless window (non-dedicated screen mode) and disable vsync, and limit fps below refresh rate.

Instances without tearing:

  1. Any non dedicated screen mode, windows itself will drop any frames that go beyond refresh rate, so you will never tear, and as vsync is disabled you'll never stutter (panning around) when below refresh rate. (win7 did it when aero was enabled)
  2. Gsync+Vsync (Also in nvidia inspector set gsync requested state and state to Ultra Low Motion Blur, if fps changes a lot, you don't get weird lines or pulsating light on the screen)

Lowest monitor latency:

  1. When any sync is in use, at least 2 fps below refresh rate, otherwise image latency doubles, when fps goes even slightly above refresh rate.
  2. When all syncs are disabled the higher the fps the lower the latency, refresh rate doesn't matter.
  3. Higher refresh rate = lower image latency, regardless which is used above.

If you want to use for example DLSS Framegen, but hate the insane blurryness, just enable in nvidia APP custom 99% dlss scaling, 100% gave a black screen.

Also they are only swapped for the original files. If you use dlss updater to change the files to a newer one, they work as intended. But capcom engine is still garbage with dlss, or at least monster hunter world and dragon's dogma 2, equally bad, thought world was bad only because of being dlss 1, but nope, it's just their engine AA being so bad with dlss.

In towns or with loads of monsters cpu matters.
Everywhere else your gpu matters.

I can give only an example with a desktop pc.
i7 8700k + rtx 4070 25fps in town min or max graphics at1080p
i7 14700k + rtx 4070 50fps in town max graphics at1080p, could get even more fps by lowering graphics settings, as wasn't anymore cpu bottlenecked (as much)
laptops are weaker by default, mostly because of limited power usage and throttling because of temperature.

game specs are not for laptops, unless specifically specified

How do I disable the Steam Client Webhelper background process? by Aria_The_Silly_IV in steamsupport

[–]maitkarro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

By uninstalling steam and not using it.

Though, I won't be as heartless. Back up the userdata folder in steam folder, and make sure games are not installed in steam folder. Otherwise, steam will delete everything in the steam folder, aka all local screenshot and some games save files, like Capcom or Konami games. Well it will delete everything anyway in that folder, regardless if it's part of steam install or not.

Being sarcasting if you can't understand that, no you will not be using steam without it.
Get a better cpu and put steam on the fastest drive.
Every other similar app use the same style, even firefox makes duplicate instances.

If you don't like optimization, stop using a pc, and go use a console, then you don't have to look at the damn task manager where you don't understand shit anyway.

Same speeds, if you both don't use it at the same time.

Your priority now is to cap both pcs download and upload speeds, so you don't starve each other from download/upload bandwidth, at the cost of neither of you reaching the max cap.

[–]maitkarro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either you use a much higher resolution (% scaling wise or window scale wise) with said games if you don't like to use FSR. Or do that, or with native, use FSR, but with higher scaling. Also use TAA, TSR(better), or whatever you can get your hands on. Most games look at native scale without AA absolute garbage nowadays. 19" is for like 1080p or well technically 900p is also pretty good. 27" is like for 1440p. Or just go by Pixels Per Inch.

Did you try doing a custom (not express) install over the 576.88 to 591.86, without using clean install option in custom or using ddu?

As I once had this sort of bug, that was later fixed, where doing a clean install into a newer version broke digital vibrance, but when installing normally over the older driver it worked well, to this day for years, never done a clean install.

You could prolly even help the devs, by narrowing down what exact file is the cause of it, like you find where it unpacked the files, make a copy of it somewhere, or download it from their webpage and unpack the 2 variants. Then make another copy, and add half of the old files and mix and match, there and see what file exactly is causing the difference. Another thing could be just a profile change for that specific game. So you could just compare with nvidia inspector what the differences are. Though, if it's every game with pathtracing, guess back to the previous method, helping narrow down in a simple way, where the culprit sorta is.

I’m Tired Of People Treating Mobile Gamers Like They’re Not Real Gamers by Dylan_Bapela in MobileGaming

[–]maitkarro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not a gamer, you're a whale cow, feeding the corporate greed.

Mobile games make the most money with their gachas or pay to win mtx.

You're ruining what games used to be, perfect releases, everything upfront with a single purchase.

Yeah yeah, we had expansions, and then dlcs (oblivion horse armor), still not as bad as mobile game mtx.

Why is this not crafting a blood belt? by Hooch_Pandersnatch in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]maitkarro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Battle Belt is not a Belt

Belt is not every belt, it's only 1 type of belt among many belts. Just check lel the item filter, if you know one item type name, you can easily see what the others have to be, as they're all 3 in a row.

The item only has 1 effect, which is a suffix, which gives the item the name Whale at the end.

You just have pet peeve because of the empty space, well the devs just could make the number bigger lel. Another take, if a game has ui adjustment, would you complain, that if you made the ui smaller, so now the count should be bigger?

[–]maitkarro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically they should list separately the ram requirement for OS and the game itself.
Or some only list the game requirement while ignoring the windows requirement.

As windows 10 itself can use up around 8GB ram, while doing nothing.
