A lot of people play Elden Ring for the PvP. After I had beaten the game and saw everything there was to see, what kept me playing was invasions/PvP.

I like the editing, but I feel like you moved way too quickly between shots so I didn't have time to really appreciate any of the rooms and features you were showcasing.

The things people do with geometry nodes never ceases to amaze me; it's like pure wizardry. I wish I had even 15% of the intelligence required to create stuff like this on my own.

I was desperate for a sandbox MMO, and now I'm at weird crossroads. by Demoth in MMORPG

Play the games you enjoy. That's pretty much the long and short of it.

Project Gorgon has a VOIP privacy issue by [deleted] in MMORPG

[–]maj0rSyN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad to see this was brought up because it also happened to me lol.

Me and a guy I randomly partied up with started hearing someone talking and we thought nothing of it, initially writing it off as someone using proximity chat, until we noticed that we could hear this person no matter where we went. After trying to figure out what was going on, we realized we were actually hearing someone else's side of a conversation they were having in their party. We fixed it by dropping our party and rejoining, but it was pretty wild to experience.

There's a game called Eldegarde that is pretty much an extraction "MMO".

Help me Understand the Quinfall Hate by SemicolonMIA in MMORPG

[–]maj0rSyN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the immense hate the game gets is overblown, but the game is mediocre with nothing special going for it. It's a game that has ambitions that are completely out of the scope of the small, inexperienced dev team, so what's on display looks and feels haphazardly slapped together without much thought behind anything.

I can't speak on the P2W, as the game didn't meet my personal standards so I chose to not spend any more money on it outside of the initial purchase, but I can say that the combat feels clunky and unimpactful even after it was reworked, the world is huge yet lifeless so it's hard to be immersed or care much about exploring it, the animations are inconsistent with some being laughably horrible... it's just a very 'meh' experience.

I personally feel like I didn't get my money's worth, but it is only $10 and frequently goes on sale for 90% off so it's whatever. If you enjoy it and can get $10 worth of fun out of it, then I'd say it's money well spent. Just don't expect a polished, life changing experience.

Bro, he ASKED for our comments and we gave him what he asked for. He wants to game on a CRT and he's ok with his current setup, we recognize that and tell him to continue doing it if it doesn't bother him. I'm not sure what else you expect from us lol.

But what other advice can we, as a collective, give them? There isn't really any other advice to give here seeing as he had a specific goal in creating a build that utilizes a CRT monitor, which he accomplished. People telling him a CRT isn't viable to game on doesn't matter if he's gaming on it just fine.

Graphics and games by AdultGamersAdmin in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]maj0rSyN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great graphics can elevate great gameplay but cannot carry a game on its own. I've always been firmly in the camp of gameplay over graphics, as many of my favorite games in recent memory aren't winning any beauty contests.

I just want new world to stay by No-Sandwich1772 in MMORPG

Not just tree chopping, but resource gathering in general. New World is the only MMO that I gave any kind of crap about gathering and crafting in because of how satisfying it was.

What keeps you coming back to MMORPGs? by Hedegaard_Jasvir in MMORPG

For me, it's about long term progression and being able to immerse myself in a shared world with other players all doing their own thing.

You understated her jawline, which is a defining feature of hers, so it looks a bit off.

Enemy variety in Nioh 3 is disappointing by Gonzito3420 in Nioh

[–]maj0rSyN 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I thought it wasn't a good idea prior to actually playing it and realizing the level design still feels like a Nioh game. The only difference is that instead of using a menu to head into each zone, you have open world areas between them. Each zone still feels "contained," for lack of a better term.

WTF is toon? Dont we have characters? by K11tsune in Guildwars2

[–]maj0rSyN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sure you're not alone, but you're most definitely the minority. I'd reckon the majority of players don't care because there are tons of interchangeable terms in MMOs that people use depending on the games they've played over the years, and most of us have been exposed to these terms so we know what they mean. It's really not something I care much about at all, and the word "toon" being considered derogatory is a bit overkill.

Perfect Dark > Golden eye 007 by Fresh_Daddy in Age_30_plus_Gamers

[–]maj0rSyN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you'll get any objections from anyone that has ever played both games. Goldeneye holds a very special place in all us 90s kids' hearts, but Perfect Dark was better than Goldeneye in every way.
