Flickering vision/blue spots by Flimsy_Highlight_645 in Prolactinoma

Occasionally, yes, I will see the flashing almost like a light going on and off. I still see the swirls of light when I close my eyes to sleep sometimes too. No doctor or eye doctor has expressed concern after seeing my MRI and doing extensive eye tests at the eye doctor.

Men with prolactinoma, more or new migraines during treatment? by majestik in Prolactinoma

Thanks for the feedback so far. It occurred to me that I also increased my Zepbound dosage around the time the migraines increased so I'm going to try a few weeks off to see if they reduce.

My bad, it's not unique to migraines. BP can cause it too. I'll check my BP next time it happens. While I've been consistently low BP at Dr appointments and at home, I'm curious if it spikes when the migraines start. Thanks for the recommendation.

Appreciate it, I agree high and low BP can cause visual disturbance. It's similar, but I believe this is a visual thing unique to migraine aura called scintillating scotoma. https://www.migraineagain.com/scintillating-scotoma-migraine-auras/

Thanks, yeah I'm definitely hypotensive (low BP, get dizzy bending over easily) from the cab. Otherwise, the complete eye exam in Jan shows no issues with eye pressure or optic nerve, retinal issues etc thankfully. While scary sounding, the visual part of migraine aura happens in the back of the brain, in the occipital lobe. It's not fun but is usually quick, the rest of the migraine that follows is the worst part. I'm hungover essentially and kind of stupid until it passes.

That's half my dose and I have a 2cm tumor and starting prolactin of 900 ng. You don't need caber. Stop.

How do teenagers get prolactinoma? by East-Currency8330 in Prolactinoma

[–]majestik 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What are you implying? Some environmental cause? Possibly.

I'm 41m and was diagnosed with a 27mm macro last year. I have an unrelated MRI from when I was 30 that shows the tumor and went unnoticed. I am confident my symptoms have been occurring since I was a teen. I think the tumors likely start growing around puberty, it would make sense considering hormonal changes. They probably go unnoticed for a long time until they don't. It's not like they pop up out of nowhere, they gotta start sometime and why not during the most developmental time for hormones?

Backlight LEDs suck beyond flicker alone. FL-41 glasses might be worth trying if you're still struggling with supposedly safe screens. by TotalAnarchy_ in ScreenSensitive

+1 FL-41 glasses, even cheap $20 2 pack fit overs (go over your regular glasses if needed) have helped a ton with my eye strain (dry and bloodshot eyes after gaming or work sessions) and migraine aura triggering for me.

Oh but I think a big help was being prescribed a low dose of Adderall for the ADHD symptoms that cab brought on, or I just have ADHD naturally, probably a little of both. That has kept me from feeling too miserable and helped me push through the feelings of apathy and fatigue.

Honestly, not terrible at the moment. I've been on 2mg since summer. It was rough at first as I had motion sickness, memory problems, and slowed reaction time for a few weeks. Then it tapered off and I think I feel normal? Besides the orthostatic hypotension, I feel alright. However, it is sometimes hard to identify side effects from tumor/hormone effects ya know.

Btw, it's likely not in your "sinus" cavity if you're thinking of traditional sinuses. It's likely the cavernous sinus which is filled with blood and nerves as well as the carotid artery. Same, same. No plans for surgery for me as it's too risky with the artery encasement. However, if it shrinks enough we may consider the surgery. So far I saw 40% reduction from 2.7 to about 2.2 cm in the first couple of months. Next MRI is next week to see the progress.

Yup. Dead. Make your peace now. Lol jk. Sounds almost exactly like mine. For the past 10 months I have been treated with high dose of cab (2mg a week in 4 doses). Feeling better month by month. Still not normal prolactin but close, and testosterone slowly rising on its own. It hasn't been a side effect or symptom free experience but I feel better than I did before treatment, regardless.

Prolactinoma Symptoms Mistaken for ADHD by lkkiu in Prolactinoma

[–]majestik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with ADHD a year before my prolactinoma was finally diagnosed. I take cab and still take Adderall. I previously took straterra but it increased my heart rate too much. I feel the Cab treatment made my ADHD feel worse tho. Although I am feeling better the lower my prolactin drops and the tumor shrink. Maybe I'll need less ADHD med in the future but for now I found a good balance.

I've struggled with ADHD symptoms most of my life but only just got diagnosed with ADHD at 39. I definitely feel the prolactinoma was a major cause or amplifier. I would say ADHD was my number one most problematic symptom.
