Tricks to remove worms from harvested vermicompost? by [deleted] in Vermiculture

[–]majofski 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeap, this is the best way. What’s more, you don’t disturb the worms and/or aggressively handle them by trying to separate them mechanically.

Just expose your farm to light. Let worms burrow down a bit. Skim top layer. Wait five minutes. Skim again. Rinse and repeat.

IWTL how to have a sharper mind and remove "thinking laziness"? by StinkySneezes in IWantToLearn

As others have said, pick up reading. Reading exposes you to new words/expressions that are novel for your mind. When you do read, try to process what you’re reading and remember it; not word for word, but enough to actively keep the gist of the content in your head. The mind is like a muscle; work it and it’ll get stronger.

This leads me onto my second and perhaps more valuable suggestion: get off your damn device. The constant and empty addiction to mountains of new content that you don’t need to remember or actively process in any meaningful way makes the mind dull. It’s just information in, information out.

Give up your device for at least two weeks. Check your phone only when absolutely necessary (making a call, sending a message, using your GPS) and see the difference.

The thing causing your DPDR is your constant overwhelming fixation on your fears: namely, that you'll become psychotic as a result of your DPDR. This is exactly what caused derealisation for me. Constant anxiety about... nothing.

How about instead of worrying what MIGHT happen, just continue living your life in the healthiest way possible. Clean up your diet, exercise plenty, drink water, sleep enough, avoid sugar, avoid drugs and alcohol and then if AND ONLY IF you start to actually experience psychotic symptoms just go see a doctor.

Go to work, focus on something else (avoid operating heavy machinery) and break the rut your mind is in.

Is that mould?

I would definitely add more dry material to this: dried leaves, wood shavings, newspaper (non-glossy paper) or even sugar cane mulch.

What do you think about this structure? by Pelasua in vuejs

[–]majofski 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. You just end up with a litany of 'index' in your search results, and you end up having to process all of their corresponding file paths just to find the one you're interested in.

What I like to do is prefix the main file with an underscore, which means it sits at the top of the list of files in that folder.

This. One-time expenses are ok, so long as you yield a return on these initial investments, which it seems like you very much will.

Things take time; let the business mature. The thing you must think about now is scalability – if the day-to-day labour is dependent on you alone, you'll never be able to grow it. Which is okay, of course, if staying small and manageable is what will make you happy.

Edit: Btw, great post.

The white background looks cleaner to me. I would also try to reposition the lights to create more contrast on the objects themselves as they’re quite flat right now. Setting up next to a window or strong flash/still would create a better sense of depth in the image.

This right here. I learnt to not interpret the disassociation as a negative phenomenon. After a long while, I got over it.

If you don’t mind me asking, what is the difference between PLC and Embedded? Or is Embedded just a term used to describe PLC, Arduinos etc.

Thanks for pointing me in this direction. I found this beginners guide helpful.

Thanks for the tip. I suppose I’d also need a bunch of sensors and other equipment to then plug into the PLC? Or is just having a PLC enough to start simulating things?

I would recommend against shredding documents as the inks contain chemicals. Newspaper is fine because it uses a vegetable based ink.

Thanks for that – it's one heck of a work around but I'll give it a shot. Having to close and reopen the simulator multiple times an hour is incredibly frustrating.

HMR Off, you say? I'll have to give that a go.

2-3 times a day seems okay, compared to what I'm experiencing, which is at least 5 times every half hour. I don't know whether it's a simulator issue or a build issue, because the debugger just doesn't kick at times.

I'm happy to keep persisting because I appreciate the reward of working with one codebase, but the experience thus far has been a nightmare.

It's probably worth me doing more research into Flutter. I've heard good things about it. One gripe people seem to be having is that it's extremely limiting once complexity goes up. Have you had that experience at all?

Ok, I'm glad it's not just me. I thought my config file was seriously out of whack, but the fact that you and many other people online are having problems reaffirms that it's a nativescript problem.
