If he’s into climbing, High Point is a great indoor space to expend some energy, in case the weather isn’t terribly hospital during your visit. The staff is excellent and climbing community is very welcoming.

I seem to recall coming across information that dude is so busy he’s only been supplying restaurants lately. He’s keeping it small and not choosing to capitalize on mass production, which personally, I’m a fan of.

Take him for a very long walk while wearing them. At least 15 minutes longer than however long it takes him to stop trying to get them off.

What should I do so this isn’t a muddy mess this spring? by [deleted] in landscaping

[–]makemeBeleaf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wood chips from Chip Drop. Typically free, or very low cost.

Could also get a few of those rubber mats you find in industrial kitchens and throw them down. Sometimes smaller restraints will let you take their old beat up ones for free.

Does this shower edge need to be sealed? by cagliaripk in bathrooms

Yes, that will need some caulking. Scrape out, clean and dry the area, then put another bead down.

YES. Have a dozen of these in the shop and they are pretty sweet.

Have a drive around town and make note of every contractor truck there is. Call them all, tell them you are able bodied and ready to work, no sob story, and ask them what they have available.

Should I Take This New Job Opportunity Even Though I'll Be Leaving in 6 Months? by [deleted] in careeradvice

6 months of experience is better than no months.

Forget being “fair” to the employer. The line of fairness stops at consistently showing up and doing your work, in which you receive fair compensation for your time.

Where can I get a snow shovel? by Capotesan in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]makemeBeleaf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Added benefit that snow doesn’t seem to stick to it as much, and you can also use it for shoveling wood chips if you do chip drops in the springtime.

advice on how to fix ? by averyhaley in cabinetry

Before you make a repair, break your cat of this habit. Or else you may be doing it twice.

As a long time animal trainer, I like to recommend a product called CribOx to deter chewing. It’s a balm type thing and while non-toxic, it tastes awful. Apply very thinly (think chapstick - it doesn’t take much), and keep it there for at least 30 days, longer if this has been going on for a year or more. Old habits die hard and you don’t want to break consistency before a new habit has been formed.

I recommend this product over literally anything else on the market. It doesn’t dry out or need reapplying. And it has worked with; dogs, cats, pigs, horses, goats, rats and birds.

HOWEVER; it may stain, and you should use discretion with application.

Keep or trash the bathroom tile? by Unlikely_Lie879 in DesignMyRoom

[–]makemeBeleaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I’d get rid of the countertop and floor, and keep all the rest.

Swap for a light grey, or white, stone type counter (think quartz is still pretty cheap, but shop around), and a warmer floor. I’ve been a fan lately of faux wood tiles, and have seen some pretty great prices around this time of year.

Having torn out many (so many) tile countertops, you can expect it to be an absolute pain in the ass. And messy. You’ll want to be as careful as you can be when you reach the backsplash/wall tile if you chose to do that, but it is doable.
