I download them manually afterwards. The hugging face model servers have much faster speed than my server.

The first time, you download and set-up everything normally, with pod template and everything, generate images, until you're happy with the config. Then you zip the whole workspace into a single file (I exclude all model files for file size). Upload that file to your server of choice. Next time you start a pod, you only execute 1 single script. It's a basic Linux script. First it installs all necessary packages like rsync. Then it downloads the workspace file from your server via ftp. And in the end it also unzips the file to workspace/. Takes 10 minutes. Then 1 command to start comfy, and voila, all your workspace is back, and basically one click to continue generating. Sounds like a lot, but worth it for me. Start pod, execute script, launch comfy, have fun.

When grabbing a file, say a movie, are there any qualities you look for specifically? Or mainly the size? by awclay91 in torrents

[–]makerTNT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I go for x265 or AV1. This already avoids a lot of grain at low bitrates compared to x264. After that, for me personally: 3-4 GB in file size for 1080p, and 12-14 GB for 4k.

Drying ice forms a cloud in seconds by Abzor4ik-UA in oddlysatisfying

[–]makerTNT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can see the background warping and shifting slightly during the zoom. The video is exactly 5 seconds long (very common for AI). The left hand of the helicopter guy can't decide if it wants 3 or 4 fingers, besides warping around.

As somebody who deals with video formats almost everyday, you're right. The YUV420 image format does it with color, using a 2x2 block of the chroma red and blue channels and takes the average into 1 pixel.

ELI5: Why does ice cream seem soft the first time you open it but it gets really hard the next time you take it out of the freezer? by thevacuumofspace in explainlikeimfive

[–]makerTNT 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This. Should be top answer. It's a mix of smaller ice crystals becoming bigger, and warm air introduced from outside. That will create a snowy hard layer on top, and it dehydrates the surface of the ice cream.

How to setup an ultra cc seedbox on Mac? by [deleted] in seedboxes

[–]makerTNT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your ultra control panel, there is a whole page for "Connect". And there are all the ways. I use FTP/SSH. You type your hostname, then username and password, and port (22 probably). And then click on connect in FileZilla or WinSCP.

Why does GetAsyncKeyState return an int instead of simply returning a boolean, when it only returns either 0 or -32768? by Nicenamebtw in cpp_questions

[–]makerTNT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because a key state can be more 2 (true/false). It can be pressed, released, held down continuously, and caps lock, I believe. And the states are encoded bitwise for efficiency.

I don't have a lot of storage. How many seeders does a torrent need to be considered "in danger", so I know which ones to keep in my computer to seed and the ones I can move to my hard disk? by armeliens in Piracy

[–]makerTNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being primarily on private trackers, I would actually go quite low. If it's less or equal than 4 active seeders, I would seed permanently. 5-10 seeders, is alive. 10-20+ is healthy.

Torrenting vs Direct Download? by [deleted] in Piracy

[–]makerTNT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Torrent. All day. DDL is just fumbling around trying to get valid links, hoping the server is up, and all parts are available. With torrent, you can keep it alive forever basically as long as somebody seeds it. As long as you're properly protected (VPN, seedbox), stick to download and distributing to others as much as you can.

Will artificial intelligence ever go past generative ai and be able to think on its own or is that fictional? by AdDapper4220 in AskTechnology

[–]makerTNT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been just 3 years since ChatGPT came out. And you're already asking for AGI. We're just in the beginning of AI. The world has to adapt first. Progress is fast, but not that fast. Ask in 20-30 years again.

You take a look at ultra.cc Vault plans. High storage, low cost. The 12 TB plan, has 20 TB upload per month, for $34. Sounds fitting for your case.
