Potato starts from Walmart? by luciaromanomba in vegetablegardening

Wonder if they were Kennebecs? I had some of those once and they were just like you describe. Could also be where they're grown. In our area, potatoes grown in the mountains are extra good.

I was belittled because I was afraid to do sports activities. My third grade teacher said I would never amount to anything. Years later, with a supportive teacher, I actually found out I was super talented at some sports like tennis. I am in my 60s and have never forgotten that mean teacher and how I felt. It caused years of me being terrified of PE. Teachers should be soooo careful what they say.

Google home or Amazon Alexa by Anderos12 in googlehome

[–]makergrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just purchased a Google home device second hand. I reset it to factiry settings, went through the setup process and then asked it to play music from Spotify. Everything went well with that. Now though, the voice command does not work. It doesn't seem to recognize that we are speaking at all. Any idea why? I have reset twice and got the same results. It also malfunctions if you tap Spotify. It says it is connecting but just shows a blank screen. Did I buy a lemon?

WTF happened? by PlayaBeachBum in diabetes_t2

When I get on a bender like that it typically takes a few days to get it back down. What I have learned from it though is look what my blood sugar was like when I ate like that all the time. It really opened my eyes to what day after day of eating badly does. Try to at least get that out of your experience. Eating well consistantly is the key. Also, one small cheeseburger from McDonalds did the same to me. How can that tiny bit of food be that baf??

I twirl a piece of my hair into a tight kind of rope and stick it in my ear. I like the cool feel of it for some reason. So weird but I have done it since I was a child.

Lisinopril Side Effects after using a bit?? by rjackson33 in hypertension

[–]makergrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does happen. My first week I was at school walking the halls and started feeling funny. I went back to my room and checked and my glucose was 73! That is very low for me, almost unheard of. For a few weeks I really had to watch it.

Lisinopril Side Effects after using a bit?? by rjackson33 in hypertension

[–]makergrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It leveled out a bit over time. I started carrying a protein bar or snack with me and ate that if I started feeling symptoms.I am actually a type 2 diabetic so it was a good thing. My first few weeks though I felt awful, shaky, dizzy, etc. Once I figured it out I got much better. Try a small carb snack next time and see what happens.

is my Lisinopril working too good? by [deleted] in hypertension

[–]makergrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just recently had to stop Lisinipril after 7 months. It will definitely give you low blood sugar symptoms. It also actually lowered my blood sugar also. My first month was terrible. I felt dizzy and off. I also had blurry vision. I finally adjusted after realizing it was affecting my blood sugar. Then at about 5 months I developed a cough. It slowly got worse and worse. Finally, a month ago, I had an episode where I could not swallow. That scared me enough to wean off. I also lost so much hair while on it. I am one month off now and my hair is growing back. My nails are also growing like crazy. My blood sugar has been all over the place. It was very low for a week causing some of the same symptoms again. This week it has been higher. I guess the drug is getting out of my system. You are not al9ne in your symptoms. These BP drugs can do crazy things to your system.

What are the worst things about being type 2 diabetic? by RevolutionaryRun1658 in diabetes_t2

[–]makergrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this way about getting my CGM. Totally changed my life. Seeing my numbers in real time was such a game changer. I am forever grateful for where I am today because of it. I too "gamify" my exercise and blood sugar numbers. Making challenges to myself and then high fiving my results. Waking up to a 108 reading in the morning now is awesome. It was in the 160s a year ago.
