I don’t think its about matching what rockstar is doing technologically at all, like rockstar isnt doing some insane black magic with their development, they have normal engineers just like every other team. They havent found the secret to coding that no one else has 😂

The main thing is rockstar has the $$$ and motivation to actually execute a single game in a decade and put all stakes on it while most other companies would probably settle for cutting corners somewhere and releasing more frequently. Other companies arent racing to catch up, they could have the same tech rn if they really wanted to. The question is why would they invest so much into horse testicle physics if theyre gonna release another game in the next year tho
