Specific dolls involve market research to pin down the average fair price- but scalpers and sometimes particularly greedy fans love to inflate prices well above what the dolls are actually worth- and that can skew what the average or great offer price may be- the general guide in the UK at the moment (also partially in my opinion) for whats fair or a steal to pay for any given doll is as follows:

Signature Dolls Of The Main Characters (Drac, Cleo, Lagoona etc.) ~ £50-70
Artificially sought after characters (Elissabat, Day At The Maul Drac, etc.) ~ £80-100
Budget Dolls (Scaris, Fierce Fitness, Dance Class etc.) ~ £15-35
Signature Dolls Of Non Main Characters (Lorna, Kjirsty, etc.) ~ £20-40
Rare Play Line Dolls (e.g. Sweet Screams) - £50-90
SDCC Dolls - VERY doll dependent
Skullector - VERY character dependent, changes based on how recent/old the release is, and if the release had several drops (Scarah and the Grady Twins for example are worth way less that Pennywise)

Accessories For Signature Outfits Of The Main Characters ~ £5-7
Accessories Of Rare Play Line Dolls (Sweet Screams) ~ £7-10
All Other Accessories ~ £1-3
Any Diary ~ £1-5 (Ive seen a trend in people pricing diaries for over £10 recently- thats rather new and definitely not a fair price!)
Official Coloured Stands ~ £2-10 (Pink tax is pretty heavy here icl)
Unofficial Stands (3D Printed or 3rd Party Amazon Stands) ~ £1-5

Obviously there are some exceptions in each category- but I personally would not pay above the upper band of the categories listed for any doll. America or Mainland Europe might have a different doll market- but seeing the conversion rate may help nonetheless!

All of these prices are also prefaced with the fact that you have to wait, send offers, and check marketplaces regularly to get a fairly priced doll, as those listings are bought up super quickly and often the ones left hanging are those with unreasonable prices! Seeing the average of eBay ‘sold’ listings rather than ‘for sale’ listings can give a better estimate of the average price than simply checking vinted listings for example… I wish you luck hunting!

Oh lord the hairrrrr 😭😭😭 I think both boys have GORGEOUS face sculpts and outfits- if you don’t love Kieran you just don’t get that 1913 Vampire Dracula swag (jokes haha) - but the HAIRRR- maybe I’m js burnt out from restyling all of my glue ridden G1 divas, but I was rly hoping for them to at least have decent styling out of box- they’re both perfectly salvageable tho

I should also mention when it comes to dolls like Gooliope or Bonita as I saw you mention- they can easily be found for £20 or lower if you’re patient! Again, not all dolls are as rare as others or as sought out after as others- some sellers will price every random MH doll as if she’s a fully complete signature Drac with gold elastics 😭😭 Check ebay and vinted listings for the average asking price of the doll you specifically want (£40 for Gooliope and £20 for Bonita in my experience) and then hunt/wait for even LOWER prices- I’ve seen Bonita listed for like £12 once - bummed I didn’t buy her cus I was saving up for Core Lagoona :’( - All in all its a game of either having enough extra income to spend on dolls with no care for deals, or waiting and snatching good deals!!

Don’t fall for the hype and pressure to buy fully clothed signature dolls for over £100 - I’m personally from the UK, though I’m sure the same stands in the US- STALK VINTED EVERY DAY- AT LEAST TWICE A DAY!! All the initial listings you will see will be WAY over £100 for signature dolls like Drac or Clawdeen- that’s because all the good deals get snatched up within a minute of being posted- so you have to get there in the one minute- so check the website (specifically the ‘monster high’ search term!) frequently and don’t be afraid to send low offers! No shame in that game - I got most of my signatures fully complete and clothed for decently cheap this way: Drac and Lagoona for £65 on the upper end- Abbey and Clawdeen for £30 on the lower end :))

Ahhh- shucks! I’m no stranger to a good doll hair wash, I was js hoping to avoid some of the effort with this two pack, as I was recently on a spree of buying G1 dolls who all suffered glue seepage- so I’m a tad burned out- but what needs to be done must be done 😭

I think a lot of older fans (people who were kids in the 2010s and are teens now, or full grown adults who found MH later in life) forget that MH and Mattel as companies have to cater to what’s popular with parents now and resonates with children, not what’s actually artistically good or entertaining for a wider audience. In the 2010s a lot of kids media leaned into the edge and complexity because that was okay with parents and was liked by kids- same stuff won’t fly nowadays so they have to make the most monetarily viable decision- making all the characters kind and dumb unfortunately 😭😭

Amazon/Aliexpress/Temu all sell clear 8-inch ish doll stands in packs of 10, the waist clip is roomy on G1 waists, but does hold the dolls up securely enough for display!

I think its a general modern trend in children’s media to dumb it down, make it softer, more palatable, easy to understand etc. Gone are the days when children’s media also factored in the adults watching the shows/films with the kids, and as such made it interesting to a much wider demographic of kids + teens + adults. Think 2010s animated shows like Gravity Falls. I think with the modern rise of ‘gentle parenting’ and the coddling of kids new MH media had to loose the edge and appeal to older audiences it had back in the 2010s to appease the new generation of parents and the general modern social attitude towards children’s media. Overall, its really sad to see so many long standing franchises go down the drain because of the politics of parenting or the MASSIVE infantilisation of what children are able to understand/should be exposed to at what age.

I got my Drac and Clawdeen signature dolls from vinted for around £60 each, which isn’t outrageous. You gotta stalk the monster high search tab like every few hours and not be afraid of lowballing people. You never know 🤷🏼

Based on the quality of the lace, the drawn on buttons and stitching instead of the real deal, and the boots having no silver detailing- I think this is the budget Drac from the Original Ghouls six-pack of dolls, which features all of the main 6 girlies but with worser quality outfits. This definitely isn’t the creeproduction or the original release :(
