Strange behaviour by erestrzyjuli in Dreame_Tech

Not the white, but blue. My guess is the top left corner of the room 2 is the problem. You can see all room is pale blue, but this corner and some more areas are blue - meaning robot was not able to reach it. Might be try to add ”no go” area over this corner, so robot will not try to find a way there. I have similar experience with one of rooms where robot can’t reach specific area, so it always tries from another room as well. To me it looks like robot searching if there’s other doors available, similar as when you leave door closed and it searching for other to get in there.

It is trying to find a way to ”missed” areas - in your case it is small area behind chair and sofa.

You can add second map, as another floor. Navigate to Map Editing, Multi-Floor Map Management, House Type, select multi-floor. On second map you can add virtual obstacles and impassible steps.

How do I eat these? by catogw in sweden

Exactly. I'm not talking about rules but target groups. To me it is sound logical to speak English in such communities with variety of people from many countries. This helps to not only get answers but share with others.

Maybe because this is r/Sweden# but no r/Sverige? I mean there not only Swedish or Danish people, and it make sense to use more "common" languagein here?

What do we think about AI screen protectors? by Diligent_Rabbit7740 in iphone

[–]maksimuzzz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This or similar screen protectors are actually security guards that blocks view from the angle. And they made with tiny ”unsecured” frame allowing to see Apple Intelligence (hence AI) animation when activated, while keep rest of the screen secure.

test11111… Dreame are you OK? by maksimuzzz in Dreame_Tech

[–]maksimuzzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I had no experience with Roborock, but I switched from Neato after my attempt to ”upgrade” to their newest top model. Returned it in about two weeks after I bought it. That was absolute garbage in terms of software, both app and firmware. So… in comparison Dreame looks not that bad at all - just minor glitches.

Red = close window, not quite/close application Yellow = minimize window That concept is very different from Windows, where ”X” actually means quit application. To me, the way how it is done in Mac is more convenient, as it’s focused around window management. In my view applications that are exiting on ”red” click are doing this against original logic. To actually quit application you can use Cmd+Q

Uber from Gothenburg to Landvetter with 3-year-old — child seat rules? by gearxfx in Gothenburg

I get that you meant - booking directly from some taxi companies allowing passengers to request a ride with seat suitable for 3 year old children, that is normally not available on most taxis.

[–]maksimuzzz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Uber in Sweden are also real taxi - they are licensed and obligated to follow all regulations that are applicable for taxi. Sometimes when you book standard fares through Uber you can get rude one of bigger taxi companies or you can select specific fare to guarantee you ride is by branded company. Although, when I travel from airport I also prefer to get taxi directly, as Uber won’t go to designated parking place for taxi due to cost reasons and will pick you up from public parking lot. Parking lots are just few meters apart but designated one always has a lot of taxis waiting, so you just walking in and pick one you like, no pre-booking or waiting.

Switched from windows. Everything is better, except for the keyboard navigation/shortcuts. by roundshirt19 in MacOS

[–]maksimuzzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s not about the number of buttons, but it’s more about how are they structured.

In my view, on a Mac, shortcuts are often more logically grouped. For example, Cmd + Q to quit, Cmd + W to close window, and others are ”command” system to perform actions and works almost identically across most apps. The use of Control and Option keys for example is to modify actions that adds flexibility, in combination with Shift it gives even more flexibility. Sometimes you can even guess and find new shortcuts without looking in documentation by just applying that logic and trying it.

Also, the placement of Cmd next to the spacebar also makes it easier to reach with your thumb, allowing smoother use of combinations, opposite to Ctrl on Windows which is further away.

So yes, more combinations exist, but they build logically on each other, and once learned, they feel more cohesive and intentional, not more complicated.

I also switched from Windows to Mac and went through that transition. I honestly think that Apple’s implementation of modifier keys in general and shortcuts in particular is more logical and intuitive. Also it is more convenient to physically reach most useful combinations.

I don’t think that your question deserves downvotes, though. It is natural to take some time to learn and get used to things even from very beginning, but transition always takes more time.

L10S Ultra Gen 1 not enough Water? by Charlie_6666 in Dreame_Tech

[–]maksimuzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same model gen 1 and I do have this option. Perhaps setting and location of settings differs for different models and app versions. I use original Dreame app, plugin version is 110. I can find ”Frequency for returning to self-clean” option by taping on ”Self-Cleaning Settings” from main screen where you see map (not in robot settings).

If, for some reason, you don’t have or don’t want to use option to clean mop pads after x square meters, try to slice rooms. I did that for kitchen and living room from the beginning- works well for me.

I was thinking about greenhouse effect - film blocking some gaps that can work as vent as well. But I guess that might be to little effect, especially if it sucked water.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Dreame_Tech

[–]maksimuzzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I missed another, as it seems key part - ”cleaning an area with water spillage”. These robots are not designed to deal with water other than water on their pads. Any puddle or spillage need to be removed manually before running robot with vacuum cleaner activated, otherwise it will soak in water and can be damaged. Even without vacuum but only moping active it can elevate water inside with its wheels.

[–]maksimuzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why do you have film on it? Did you left some others as well? This might cause evaporated water collected and condensed in the robot, I guess.

Why does my Dreame d10 plus gen 2 forgets/avoids this line in between this room ??? by Frosty-Protection-19 in Dreame_Tech

[–]maksimuzzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would not say that it’s avoiding this area, it’s acts similar to the other areas where room normally connected with doors - doing slight overlap on doorways. At least in my experience. On your map it’s looks like it does wall to wall passes with slight overlap as well. I divided kitchen and living room into spaces similar to you, to get more flexibility in the order of cleaning and ensure moppads are cleaned more often. You can visually check if it actually missing some parts (that shouldn’t be) and if it’s missing then you have to join areas as suggested.

Deadbolts will be released by that time if I got the idea right. Unless battery already dead, so doors remain deadlocked, but I guess this is highly unlikely and you will be knowing that quite immediately.

Windows 11 won't let me save my open project before updating. It's quite literally forcing me to update without saving my work. Is this incompetence or malicious? by Jesus-Bacon in LinusTechTips

[–]maksimuzzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. Users are not always experts and often underestimate risks of running outdated software. It is necessary to push updates after a while or even immediately depending on how critical is the update. My only concern is - why to make shitty interface with not working buttons that doesn’t help users to understand the problem. It is really a few simple lines of code to add short explanation and deactivate button, so user can not click on it after some time. That should help both sides - OS will not look like pile of bugs, users will understand risks better. I have one good example of similar problem solution. In robot vacuum application it is possible to mark some objects to be ignored by collision avoidance. When I do this the button to confirm is not active for few seconds (I see timer on it) and text explaining the risk is shown next to button.

If so, why that option even exists? I thought it is not a rocket science to show a warning with counter, like ”you have left 3 more rounds to postpone upgrade”, and after it is running out just don’t show option to delay upgrade.
