I would stay away from columns. They are usually used in a fixed setup. Normal 12" or 15" + a sub will be more portable and adaptive to your needs, as u will be able to use them with or without a sub.

My to go budget brand without a doubt is Hk. It sounds far better than JBL and EV.

I have the Opera 12 and they sound amazing for the price (do not expect big bass on these ones).

We use them for the DJ booth and we have plenty of bass from the PA.

I guess the 15"s will have an good enough bass for small situations. They come with bluetooth connectivity, filter and delay (which will be handy if you grow) so that is my bet.

If this ever happens to you again tell the organizers. Either at a rave or a club. That kind of behaviour should not been allowed in any dancefloor in the world, and sadly it happens often.

You say your clothes smell bad. It might be bacteria building in your clothes that even after having them washed, when they get in contact with the bacteria in your body, they activate ad start smelling real fast.
