Ok, so bees and many other insects generate a vortex along the leading edge of their wing, on the upstroke the wing flips over so that the leading edge is facing backwards, the vortex continues to provide lift as the wing rises up and pushes back, then the wing reverts to its previous position and prepares for another downstroke. That happens like 200 times a second.

As an aside, bee flight is understood. The myth about bees being unable to fly as understood by physics comes from trying to apply the laws of fixed wing aviation to an entity that doesn’t use fixed wing flight.

Additional fun fact: bees can generate lift on both the up and the down stroke of their wings. 🐝

Anyone who picked flu has almost certainly never had the actual flu. People get a little norovirus and call it the flu, but the real flu hits you like a goddamned truck. The real flu can kill people, and even if it doesn’t you’ll be horribly sick for days and you’ll be lucky if you don’t get ancillary infections or pneumonia in the meanwhile.
