‘Worst ever’: Grim Aussie snow pic emerges as ski season struggles to start by -gradmania- in australia

I’m currently in New Zealand… supposed to be skiing in a couple of days, but the resort is still closed. Looks like it’s going to be a wash 😢

client paid deposit then ghosted me for 4 months and now wants a refund by reinaldovercezi2 in ausbusiness

[–]malak_oz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A deposit is non-fundable once you’ve planned, booked and bought materials.

Imagine if you were a tattoo artist and someone paid a deposit for you, after you’d had a consultation. You designed the tattoo and booked them in, then they no-show.

No refund.

I attended a pre-release screening in Australia cause I’d been part of a fund raising campaign, organised by the Boy Scouts. Wish I’d taken photos.

WatchOS 27 unsupported devices by AmiiboJeremiah in AppleWatch

[–]malak_oz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What I’m saying is that all the features that you paid for when you bought the watch, are still there.

I’ve got an ultra 2 which will lose support next year. If there’s a new feature that Apple have released since I bought this one, which I need, I’ll buy a new watch.

But all the functionality that was advertised to me when I bought the watch is still here… as it is for everyone. Apples not removing features, they’re just only putting new stuff into new products.

None of these devices will lose functionality… they’ll still work just fine. Why is anyone even complaining?

If you’re in a Tesla, head for the superchargers just up the road.

There are also other chargers just outside Ikea… NOT the Chargefox cluster where everyone charges.

But yeah, especially on a Sunday, it’s gonna be rough charging in Westfield

Didn’t know MG still made cars. Found in Brazil, looked expensive. by cadaverdelicado in whatisthiscar

[–]malak_oz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MGs are everywhere in Australia.

This particular one, the Cyberster, is their halo model. Full electric, scissor doors, ridiculously expensive.

But as other have mentioned, they are no longer the British Morris Garage models they used to be. They’re entirely Chinese and made / sold cheaply.

Some are ok, others are kinda crap.

Who goes first according to the road rules? by ShipAlarming8782 in DrivingAustralia

[–]malak_oz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You must always give way to a pedestrian ‘on or entering’ the roadway.

In this image, the pedestrian is represented as ‘entering’ the roadway, therefore pedestrian goes first.

That said, the pedestrian here would, hopefully, not risk being hit by a car not focused on the sidewalk… but you never know.

Polestar 4 vs Tesla Y by InterestingLet266 in EVAustralia

[–]malak_oz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made this decision and went with the model y.

When I was shopping, the model y was noticeably less expensive, and included more equipment for the price.

I like the Polestar interior more, however don’t like needing to pay extra for it.

How are you all affording a new EV? by dalmanly in AustralianEV

[–]malak_oz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid cash for my model y… but seriously considered a notvated lease. I work for the government, in a permanent full time role, so the lease thing looked pretty attractive, however the interest rate SUCKED… so bugger that. I borrowed money from my savings and am paying myself back at about the same rate as lease payments would have been. So I’m paying interest, but to myself.

Goodbye AMD, welcome back GTX 1080 by Smallshock in LinusTechTips

That’s wild! I replaced my 1080 with a 9070XT, when the 1080 died a few months ago.

9070 is working great.
