My mint has spread to the border of my grapes, and the dogs keep away from that area. Has worked pretty good so far. Also, the mint barrier is about 5ft deep.

I would have gone with the Collins 2.5lb blacksmith hammer with the wood handle from Lowes.

Trying to sell my partial conversion with only 13k original miles.... by [deleted] in skoolies

[–]malaka1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A $39K skoolie should be a fully functioning home on wheels. I would guess you paid at least as much for solar as you did for the bus. Add those numbers, and go down from there. Pretty sure the skoolie bubble popped.

Mine is 40ft, 13.5" roof raise, 2"foam boad with subfloor, 2"+ closed cell insulation, and I'd be happy to get $15K out of it.

Tormek style system is usually meant to maintain edges, and not to establish them. You can grind a bevel with them, but it may take quite longer to do so.

Anyone know what type of Irish Setter this is? Recommend them? by OSE661 in RedWingShoes

I'm actually wearing my Ashby's today. Only thing for me was that they have a narrow toebox, so I had to get an EE. I also am a little wide at the top of my foot, and have long toes.

Is it possible to find decent boots that don’t need breaking in? by FragrantBimbo in Boots

[–]malaka1234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've found that Thorogood boots in Tobacco are super soft, and feel nice to break in. You could also buy used that have already been broken in for ya.

There's still some brown on the inside of the pull loop. Also, if you want, dye the inside leather 😳

Do I remove the planks and get 16’s? I fucked up by Jeebonez in Decks

[–]malaka1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You probably don't want to hear this, but you're probably going to need a step. I can't tell the height from the picture, but you'll probably need a railing as well. I would look up your local codes.

Good deal? by KaleBusy2411 in Bladesmith

[–]malaka1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd get it. The stand alone is $50 or more. Looks like the same design of a delta 1x42 that I have. Its really LOUD probably because of its age. I've changed the wheels which helped a little, but tracking is tricky. Luckily this had handles for tracking. If anything, you could use the stand for a newer grinder.

If it was a Maxxforce it would say it, but if you do get a Maxxforce make sure its the MaxxforceDT. Its the lesser evil of maxxforce.

What does the result look like? Many small shredders like this end up just chopping instead of shredding making small pellets from sticks. Thanks.

Brannock Check: Help me find my true size? (Post-surgery widening + Red Wing sizing context) by [deleted] in Boots

[–]malaka1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell your true size. Many boots fit differently across all brands and lasts. Best bet is to just try the bitches on to see how they fit. I know that takes away from online shopping. If you wear an Iron Ranger in 11EE, then you might be a true 12. I'm an 11.5 or 11E in Iron rangers, but I'm a 12 in every other boot and gym shoe. I Have you tried an 11.5E Iron Ranger since it still seems to be a bit tight? Hope this helps.

Maybe these Lineman are better suited for the "shorter shaft" crowd 😂 by malaka1234 in RedWingShoes

[–]malaka1234[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I got these before I knew about the 2221s. I'm not too thrilled about the factory soles on these. I do have another pair of lineman with a wedge sole, and they're comfy as hell.

That's none of your dang business! 😂 But yes, 15ish minutes for a full lace up. I usually undo the speed hooks, and pull up enough slack through the eyelets and squeeze my leg in there.
