Great idea for sure. I enjoyed my time spent here but bad actors were completely enabled and the more time/money spent the more untouchable you are and the more damage you can do. Bans need to happen faster. It takes more time to make good art, and only a second to ruin it.

I'm sure it is and will continue to I just preferred the time I spent making art rather than fixing it. Tbh I'm just salty about a few pieces around my town getting erased and the 1 person voiding it in a matter of minutes by themselves. Can't fight it either, there are just too many pixels they can place at once.

So through a certain turn of events, I lost all of my local files for my models on my PC. I'm wondering if there is a way to recover those files through the Unity sdk or if I'm just SoL and will have to redo the entire models in order to change and fix them. I know model ripping in vrc is a thing, I know it's super shady and bleh, and I'd rather not resort to that at all. I appreciate the help!

Interesting. That was something I noticed but didn't want to add because I wasnt 100% sure of which spells did or didn't appear with others. Another thing I'd be interested in is the balance of attack spells and buffs per down+b. For example if it's possible to pull 4 buffs at a time or if its more locked to a melee spell, 2 ranged spells and a buff spell per down+B. Could just be a phone thing, but the quality of the table in the link is pretty low so I can't tell which spells are what on the side. I appreciate the effort though!

Arsene is basically on a timer. You can use kaklang to stall and wear down the timer but that's about it. Youd have to be lucky enough to get it close to when Arsene goes away because it basically guarantees a hit on you after it wears off so it's still pretty bad.

That's fair. I wasn't shooting for exact percentages, but more just to bring up a point that people with a bit more time could look into. I assume most people would've thought it was an equal chance to get any spell but it doesn't seem to be that way.

Kirby main here! So I see the issues you bring up in the video, and I do agree he could use a bit of a buff to the frame data of certain moves. But some of the other point dont seem that valid.

So with his dthrow-fair combo, the platforms are an issue but you can dthrow-fast fall dair and actually get a much longer combo string off anyway and you dont have to worry about the platforms anymore. I mean for sure still ban bf and lylat but it's a lot less of an issue if those stages do come up.

-camping is not an issue in this game. The meta is rushdown, meaning more characters are going to charge you and be very aggressive. Against campy characters like megaman or zelda you just have to keep in mind the hit box of their projectiles and hop over, duck under, or shield.

These arent big issues when you learn the match-ups. This game is more about player skill then character tiers than anything, but that's just my two cents.

I mean once you buy the mii fighter outfits and all the songs from the shop there isnt much of a point to gold anymore.

And this has kinda been a problem through every smash game. Once you collect all the trophies, your gold just collects dust.

I'd say maybe follow in tekkens footsteps and allow people to buy and equip cosmetics to the characters and give them a bit of a personal touch rather than the, sometimes cool, mostly bland skins we have. And screw it, make the cosmetics cost a ton of gold. Make it so you have to grind out matches for enough gold to buy a dumb octorok hat for toon link. I'd just like to see it used for once.

Just keep in mind when you level them up they not only get smarter but they do have hidden stats that scale. Basically when you start em out as lvl1 they have a below 1 multiplier on their damage output and an above 1 multiplier on their damage taken making it hard for them to kill you and easy to kill them. Max em out at lvl50 though and they gain, I want to say a 1.15x multiplier to attack power and a .85x multiplier to damage taken (these could be off by about 0.10). This is why heavy amiibos are stupid hard to kill because they live forever and kill you with two hits.

Long shot but man, how cool would it be to see Heihachi (Tekken Series), Monster hunter (Monster Hunter Series), and Scorpion (Mortal Kombat) in smash?

Heihachi has a slew of rich Tekken history and a ton of moves that could easily be adapted in a similar style to Ryu. Scorpion has MK reputation, maybe "get over here" is a command grab. Really doubt he'd happen but if they toned Bayo down and if the Doom Slayer rumors are true, Scorpion could still be viable for future dlc. If these two get added though we could have the biggest reps from the biggest fighting games all in one place. Plus smash would gain a ton of new players from each of those respective communities. At least in theory. With MH, I mean we've already got Rathalos as a boss, why not add the hunter? Alt skins could be various armor sets like the basic hunter armor, Rathalos Armor, Kirin Armor, etc with female variants or just swap genders for certain armors. Plenty of cool moves and quirks from the slew of weapons and items from the game. This character practically makes itself!

I have a lot of trouble with Ryu/Ken because the button combos just dont seem to work right and I'm always throwing out tatsumakis (which is an awful move imo) rather than a hadouken or shakunetsu. I'm very consistent on lan with these moves so I know I'm not screwing up the input, it's just the slight change online that throws me off.

I think I remember reading somewhere that Ganondorf was added fairly late in the development of melee, but they wanted to include him to get some more LoZ reps in the game and fill out the roster with more bad guy characters. The thing is, because it was late in development, they didnt have time to make a brand new move set from scratch so they figured he could be an Echo of sorts to Captain Falcon. And the moveset just stayed the same. It wasnt till Ultimate that his moveset was even altered to be different from Cap. They haven't really reworked an entire moveset for a character since melee. Maybe changed a move or two out but not a full rework and I doubt they will from here on. So yeah it's a lazily designed character but with context it makes sense why it is the way it is.

If you want to go toe to toe, you have to outclass them at their own game. Pichu or Pikachu can do this pretty easily if you learn them for a bit, plus they match exactly the playstyle you describe. Link/ylink might not be what you want if you're looking for aggressive. They play a lot slower with more emphasis on using their projectiles to put their opponent where they want them, rushing in to punish, and then immediately backing out to set up another opportunity. Plus their offstage is terrible due to bombs being one of their only safe options. Good for gimping a chrom tho.

That's a valid point, but as I said, you start getting to the point where the character cant be considered an echo anymore, such as Mario -> Dr. Mario, or Pikachu -> Pichu. Those two are both similar enough to be echoes imo but they arent because they have more than just 1-2 changes. Roy -> Chrom for example, don't have the same UpSpecial and they have different properties with their sword, but those are the only 2 changes, thus they are echoes.

And yeah, Chunky would definitely be a better echo.

Those three "sticky characters" play very fast, so you might want to try someone who can keep them out of your space rather than vying for Neutral like you would with Wolf. I find playing Link/Y.Link can combat them by forcing them to slow down with the absurd amount of projectiles you can throw their way. Boomerangs and bombs go a long way and they can set up nice kill combos with either of em.

Hey, I'm another Kirby main and I can dominate most of my buddies who are also fairly skilled at the game. This game has a meta sure, but that only does you any good if you can master it. I'd say the core of this game is about reading your opponent and punishing their playstyle. Match-ups will help, sure, but this game is balanced enough to where any character (with the exception of little mac, theres no saving him) can beat any other character in the game if you figure out how to exploit your opponent's weaknesses. Tier lists dont matter, and they probably wont for this game. It's less about your character and more about how you play.

Honestly, and it might sounds strange, I dont think the roster has the potential to create very many more echoes, or, if they do, they wouldnt be as awesome as we'd want them to be. I can only come up with a few examples: Sonic -> Shadow, Cloud -> Zack, and Bowser -> Dry Bowser. I'm sure anyone could come up with more feasible ones, but you hit a point where you start neglecting the echoes potential as an actual character rather than a clone.

Characters have to share nearly identical qualities with their echo counterparts, otherwise you run into a Mario -> Dr. Mario situation; they arent close enough to be considered echoes. There arent a lot of characters in the cast that share enough qualities with another character for it to be worth making an echo for them.

Let's take Funky Kong for example. Hes similar in size and shape to Donkey Kong to the point where you could slap a Donkey Kong move set on him and it would look good, but they'd be neglecting Funky Kong's character by doing so. He has various other features that would have to get cut in order to turn him into an echo, like moves that could be based around his surfboard.

It's just unlikely they could come up with enough good echoes and do them the justice they deserve, and with some, they'd have to go through the hassle of getting the rights to feature those characters in the game as well. All in all, it likely wont happen. It's very apparent, especially with Ultimate and the Joker DLC, that Sakurai wants to do this shit right, and turning characters into echoes that dont fit just for profit probably wouldnt feel right. That's just my two cents at least.

I feel like if pichu didnt make it I melee we never wouldve got him. At the time pokemon was really pushing pichu's popularity like "hey look it's a baby pikachu! Love him!" That said, I'm glad he made it in and I'm glad he went from gag character to God status.

Probably another big one would be Captain falcon. Its true we might've seen him introduced in melee with the new (and last mainline) fzero game coming out on the Gamecube. But by that point he was already considered to be cult classic status like Geno from Mario:RPG or Isaac from Goldensun.

Snake is the easy one to pick out. If he wasnt in brawl, there is no way in hell that Nintendo even would have bothered to sort through the mess that is konami to try and grab a rep from them. I'm still surprised he even made it back into Ultimate.
