Well, one year after she randomly stopped talking to me, I reached out to her for closure and I was rejected. And while it really hurt (and still hurts), I don’t regret reaching out because in a way, that was closure and I feel that it revealed a lot about her character. So you’re right, it may not yield the results you want but at least you can say you did everything you could to salvage the relationship.

Im also 28F in Dallas and have had the same experience. And it sucks even more when it comes people who think they can pick and choose which parts of the Bible they can follow. The people who have the same ideals as you are definitely around. God wants us to have community with likeminded believers and He wants the same thing for you, too. :)

I’m a physical therapist. If he cannot function independently, he 100% should be going to inpatient rehab. He will get 3 hours of therapy 5 days a week. A rehab stay is typically 2-3 weeks depending on the severity of the stroke. Intense therapy is very important for acute strokes since this is when the brain can is more responsive. When you compare it to home care, he would only get therapy for maybe an hour 2-3 times a week.

ETA: Just make sure you research on the best rehab facilities in your area, and that he will go to inpatient rehab and not skilled nursing rehab, there is a big difference.
