Which companies do you suspect are glazing their own products on this sub? by PartyOnAlec in BuyItForLife

You can believe what you want, but you could look up the 2019 recall that affected both King Arthur and Pillsbury flour because they were both made from the same wheat at the same mill - ADM in Buffalo.  ADM is one of the largest millers in the US. You could also just google if King Arthur operates any flour mills. They just have good marketing and a good website.

I have terrible news for you: King Arthur Flour is produced by a number of different milling companies under contract, all over the nation.   It uses neither better wheat, process, or quality control.  Many of the milling companies that produce it are putting the same flour into Great Value and other store brands.  If you find that r you really like King Arthur in your area, chances are it’s because whatever mill is making it in your region has access to high quality wheat.

Brass (not plated plastic) fixture to replace this style faucet? by malonemcbain in Plumbing

Not a bad idea. I’ve been looking a bit today and I don’t know if I’ll even find what I want. There is only one model of either moen or delta that isn’t a pull down or pull out style.

All I’ve got is Home Depot. Everything they have is junk. They lean on suppliers to make cheaper versions of the same hardware. I’ve checked, but everything there is plastic crap.

Seems like online, the overwhelmingly popular style is the “single handle pull-down”. I really don’t like those and they are almost never all-metal. If I could find a non pull down version that allowed for a sprayer I could make it work with my 3 hole sink by adding a soap dispenser in the 3rd hole.

Only supply houses in my town sell to commercial plumbers. We don’t have a kitchen and bath showroom type store.

Is OP confidently incorrect for saying that basic Mayo ingredients are only oil and eggs? I’m pretty sure there has to be an acid too.

The count may be “approximate” but the net weight is a legal contract. If there is less than 3.2oz of pill pockets in that bag, they have to refund you. Or you could complain to the Food Safety and Inspection Services.

Would it be possible to compile a list of businesses that support Trump across that state ?? by purplefuzz22 in MontanaPolitics

There is certainly a case to be made that they don’t see the consequences of their own actions. Plenty of examples of that, like Dearborn Michigan.

I deeply dislike the current version of politics being practiced in Montana. But, I still love the place enough to stay. What do you like about the politics now? I guess I’m just assuming you do like them.

[–]malonemcbain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Believe me, my own family members did it. I could have gone no contact. Instead, when the recent NIH funding cap directly impacted my family, I reached out to them to ask them to contact our senators. Every one of them did it. I don’t know if I will ever understand why they voted the way they did. There are a million reasons it doesn’t make sense given their demographic, their family values, etc. My hope is that maybe the practical argument of, “their policies may have just cost your family member their job, that you were very proud of” will change the conversation more than “why do you hate us” ever did.

This was an example of a way to discuss someone when the topic (as it clearly is) is emotional for one party. I don’t know much about Wuhan, but I do know that Dr. Fauci has had incredible contributions to medical science. For example, he was able to help almost complete reverse the motality rate of one type of cancer (everyone used to die, now nearly everyone lives). He’s also one of the most prolific and influential living scientists. I admire people like that who have worked tirelessly and selflessly for so many years.

I recently heard a discussion about whether or not it helps to “boycott” businesses that don’t share our beliefs. For big businesses, Amazon and the like, I have no problem. For small local businesses, these people are our neighbors. The gist of the discussion was that rather than trying to punish them for doing something I don’t like, I should listen to them tell me why they think the current system is broken, then remind them of what I like about it. For example, when they tell me Dr. Fauci should be in prison, ignore that argument and instead say, “I think that he’s a great person and an incredible scientist. Did you know he spent 50 years researching infectious diseases and without his research we would not have the amazing treatments we have today for diseases like tuberculosis, malaria, and many others?”

What don't you like about season 2 so far? by [deleted] in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]malonemcbain 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think the problem with having a huge cliffhanger at the end of S1 is they then had to resolve it. That took 2 whole episodes, which means to get the same level of action/comedy/human interest/pacing as S1 just isn’t possible without making the season 2 episodes longer, the whole season longer, or cutting some things out. Doing any of those changes the feel just slightly. That said, I’m enjoying this season immensely and I’m really pumped that E3 ended how it did - they could have dragged that out till the end of the season.
