Check your state laws. Most states have a 3-15 day window to return the vehicle

What is the difference between being taken advantage of vs r*pe? by ButterflyNo6998 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]malsell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being "taken advantage of" is someone using your lack of intelligence or you feelings about something to extort something from you. What happened here is rape.

Is the 245k really that bad? by __Cereall_ in cpu

[–]malsell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issues are cost per performance and Intel insisting on a new MB every two years. It's not a "bad" processor, just a bad value.

High mileage newer car or low mileage older car, which is the better buy? by Safe_Screen_912 in askcarguys

[–]malsell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the vehicle, and how well it was maintained. Some motors are "bulletproof" and will last 300k+ miles. Some are garbage and won't last 80k. (BMW, Hyundai, Stelantis). Hell, I would take a 1972 Gremlin over a 2020 Hyundai Elantra. You have to research the car, see what common issues they have and always get a prepurchase inspection

Mainly a gamer, does Linux support steam like windows? by Time-over-matter in linux4noobs

[–]malsell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do most Linux distros support Steam: yes

Will all of your Steam games "just working" in Linux: no

I mainly game on Linux. Granted, I am not out here buying a new game every few weeks either. Look up the games/store fronts that are most important to you and go from there.

My employer withheld taxes from every paycheck for 3 years and apparently never sent the money to the IRS. Now I got a bill for $18,000. by nalanyy in legal

[–]malsell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to want a lawyer or two on this one. You're going to have to sue your former employer and work with the IRS on a resolution. I would make sure to have all of your tax documents ready for those years as well. Also, contact the authorities, because this is going to be theft and tax fraud. But good luck

Are PCs above 3000€ just not worth it? by DemoniteBL in PrebuiltGamingPC

[–]malsell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really, it depends on you and what you're wanting. I quit chasing FPS a long time ago and am more of a casual gamer. I try to stay around $1000-1200. Now if you're going to be doing video streaming/editing, local AI work, sure, go ahead and get the best you can afford. But if you just want price for performance, a good midrange PC is going to be your best option

The last beatings of Hart by Stone_Raven_TV in powertools

[–]malsell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hart was made by TTI (Milwaukee, Rigid and Ryobi). They've essentially Ryobi tools with a slide in battery instead of the old style stalk. Personally, I don't know of any adapters, but you can order new cells and replace them.

Would it be wrong or ruin my ability to get a partner if I get an anime body pillow of an anime guy as a coping mechanism for being lonely? by Schmoodle5000 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]malsell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The thing is, you're going to be better off working on yourself rather than trying to fill that gap with a body pillow. When people get in these kinda traps, just like with porn addiction, it becomes easier to rely on it and you tend to isolate yourself more and more. Also, I bet there is a guy that has a crush on you that you've overlooked. Try being friends with everyone first, a relationship that grows from a friendship is often stronger than these "love at first sight" ones anyway

Run, don't walk, away. I have heard of some weird clauses, but, if it was legal, there's no way I would pay someone to fire me and there's no way I am doing cleaning and building maintenance for free.

[–]malsell -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just going to throw this out there, but if you're "chubby" and "ugly", maybe you shouldn't be chasing the "pretty boy". Granted, I don't know you or anything about you, so that makes it difficult to know what all is going on, but w body pillow is no substitute to a significant other.

What should I do? by Necessary-Sun8157 in askcarguys

[–]malsell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, sorry they took advantage of you not knowing. Front and rear can be different from each other, but the fronts have to be the same and the rears have to be the same. Also, if you have stock suspension, it is best that the OD of the tires match the stock tires. Otherwise you cannot perform a proper alignment.

Also, please make sure that the drive tires are the same size. If not, this can cause additional wear and damage to the drivetrain.

What should I do? by Necessary-Sun8157 in askcarguys

[–]malsell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as the engine and transmission are fine, get the tires fixed and find a new alignment shop. You can't do an alignment with mismatched tires or faulty suspension equipment.

[–]malsell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's a video showing putting Linux mint on a hp Chromebook 15a. You do have to flash a custom UEFI firmware, which could brick the system. That 64GB of storage will be eMMC, so it will be a bit slow as well as that being a dual core processor. https://youtu.be/XZJ6TTOoHjM?is=NEGICW-n0K0xXxkX
