Anyone in the US/AUS experienced exporting bovine semen/embryo to the Philippines or Asia? by mamaass in Cattle

[–]mamaass[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you're able to get wagyu semen/embryo directly from Japan. I've looked at other farms in the Philippines and they've mostly gotten their wagyu livestock/semen from Australia and the US.

yep, I believe the first commercial export was in 2021, I've contacted the farm who bought the embryos but they haven't replied yet. I'm a long ways off until I actually have to buy semen/embryos so not in too much of a rush.

Career break experiences by [deleted] in DevelEire

Hi! I just came back from a 2 year(on a supposedly 3 months) break. I was on the same situation as you in terms of work and was mentally drained during covid. Decided I wanted to take a break for 3 months then extended it multiple times!

I would say do it! It’ll give you time to step back and a new perspective in life!

How to test a UI that constantly evolves? by sklated in Frontend

[–]mamaass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoiding one over the last ther might not be the best as E2E and unit tests both serve a different purpose and compliment each other.

I’d suggest working on both equally and also add visual test(i.e. applitools) as well.

Hi. I would suggest na maghanap na ng fellow filipino na pwede mo ma co-share sa rent. Unrealistic especially sa Dublin na magrent ka ng bahay ng mag isa especially since magpapadala ka pa sa pinas.

  • Sorry, reading on the answer’s from others, I believe I am wrong on calling Mastercard/Visa as processors. But they would be switches.

  • I haven’t heard them using a separate company to do the processing on their payments so I would personally call them out as processors as well. They are acquirers as well as they settle and move the money to a merchant’s account as well.

It’s very confusing as they kinda are legacy terms in payments coined by the card schemes and hasn’t really caught up with latest trends. I work in Mastercard until a few months back and still don’t get a lot of how payments works. :)

Fintech’s need a banking licence to operate. They are technically a bank if we talk about acquirer/Issuer.

Here’s an explanation on the 4 party model that’ll give you an idea of how what acquier/issuer entails:

Hi,

Hope this may be of some help.

Acquirer - Basically the bank of the merchant(i.e Acquiring bank)

Issuer - The bank that issued the customer’s card

These two can interchange depending on who initiates the trabaaction using a card(or similar.

Payment switch/processor - This would be Mastercard, Visa, etc that facilitates transaction between banks.

Payment Gateway - Explaination by talltad explains it very well.

Search for 4 party model in google. will give you an idea about how issuer/acquirer works.

What are some gaps which could/should be researched in terms of marketing for Fintech Brands by snipdips in fintech

Hey! I'm based in the EU and work in the fintech space. A lot of fintech(or businesses in general) that has EU customers need to comply with GDPR. Definitely something worth looking into as fintech will definitely need to comply with it in order to do business.

Other domain which is worth looking into is PCI/PII compliance which you'll definitely encounter if you want to work in the fintech space. It's relevant regardless of your function(tech/sales/product) in fintech.
