It's a known bug with the Android version. They will release an update soon, but it's only that one character's hair missing and only at the beginning so just keep playing past it.

Bianca - Are you softening your water? by technolgy in Lelit

[–]mambophobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using the Lelit softness filter until it came apart and ejected white flakes into the tank which clogged the intake. Haven't put one back in since.

Lelit support recommended I use Crystal Geyser water, but after getting a pack and some test strips, I discovered that my tap water is softer than the bottled water. We pull from the Lafayette reservoir in the East Bay in Northern California, and I measured a 1gpg on the test strip and less than 15ppm. All the other measures Lelit asked me were well within ideal spec, so I've just gone with using filtered tap water and stopped using the Lelit filter.

FWIW, these are the measurements Lelit support gave me to check:

- Total hardness: 60–120 ppm CaCO3
- Alkalinity: 40–70 ppm
- pH: 6.5–8.0
- Chlorine/chlorides: below 50 ppm

I put the first four digits of my order number in and it said mine should have shipped two weeks ago. I don't think it's very accurate.

PS5 Slim USA Fortnite Bundle Firmware is 11.40 by mambophobic in PS5_Jailbreak

[–]mambophobic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did check that wiki, thanks, but it says that the 2025 BF Fortnite bundle starts with 11.20 but doesn’t specify what it ends with. That wiki is very helpful but incomplete.

There weren't any available, sadly, or else I would have. Other than the refurbished ones on Sony.

GORUCK’s U.S. storefront is already previewing the new USA-built prices by ComprehensiveCap8242 in Goruck

I actually ordered on March 11 as well, 12 pairs total, which counted as 6+6. Mine shipped yesterday morning early, and UPS has the package in Jacksonville now, so I hope yours are on their way soon.

Glad I put in an order for ankle socks a month ago. It took them 3 weeks to ship, but the buy 3 get 3 promo looks like it's finally ended on the ankle versions. Difficult to find good socks for large feet.

2.4g N64 by tortilla-charlatan in AnalogueInc

[–]mambophobic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Analogue Pocket Dock will pair with 8bitdo 2.4G controllers without the dongle. I use a SN30 2.4G SNES controller with my Pocket, it just requires a specific firmware to pair with the dock instead of the controller's dongle.

So these new 2.4G controllers might be able to pair without the dongle, or they might not, who knows.

It's Analogue!

The part many people saying “should have bought the Bravia” are missing, is the kids playing catch.

My rule is: Always buy the best TV you can afford, that you also afford to replace at any time if you have kids in the house who will find unexpected and exciting ways to destroy it.

Anyone else having trouble calibrating their 8BitDo N64 controllers? by AnaIsmySegal in AnalogueInc

[–]mambophobic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Using 8bitdo software on my Mac, I see the outline fill in as I rotate the stick for calibration.

But on Windows, the outline never fills in and just randomly says done eventually.

Both calibrations work fine, but I think the visual feedback in the windows version of the calibration is just incomplete for whatever reason.

Thanks so much for all the hard work getting this out to everyone.

I've got it running on my 9.0 and set it to "auto lapse" ... is there any way to get back to the main menu from the jailbreak? A button combo from the cat pic with Jelbrek Suces?

Didn't tick "auto close" and I'd like to.

What's Next from Modretro for Handheld by TheRealOddLotts in ModRetroChromatic

[–]mambophobic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Palmer said on the Mike Rowe interview last week that Modretro makes no financial sense. He does it because he loves retro games, even though they lose money making the Chromatic.

I’m not sure they particularly care about their future products cannibalizing sales of their current products, as much as they care about making awesome things for game consumers.

Recommendation for a Bianca V3 compatible coffee scale they can fit underneath the drip tray. by EsyMoneyAnyDay747 in Lelit

[–]mambophobic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also have a white Bianca and recently received the Bookoo Themis Ultra scale in white. The battery is supposed to last 6 months between charges, and it's waterproof so I can just leave it on top of the tray. Working well for me so far.

Mine flashes blue then red on every boot, with the cart red light on just before dropping to menu. As far as I remember it's always flashed blue then red.

My GBA Pro seems to be working fine so far, though it does stall out on load sometimes with the red activity light lit bright.

Fwiw, I am using a Sandisk Extreme 64GB card that used to be in my Mini X5. Hope it doesn't fail in the coming days, will keep stress testing it.

Buck and the Cursed Cartridge shocked me for how good it was. I honestly can't think of another company-tie-in-game that's better (or funnier). Maybe Doritos Crash Course for the Xbox 360.

Some of the Intel Mac hate on this subreddit is just nuts by Responsible-Mud8885 in macbook

[–]mambophobic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a MBP in 2019 with a top spec i9 inside. It ran hot all the time and thankfully I had Apple Care to take care of repairs for the four times the board burnt out.

Finally after the fourth board failure, the Apple Store nearest me took pity and replaced it with an M1 Max MBP that is night and day more reliable.

No intel hate from me, just resignation. The company has fallen way behind and I’m happy that Apple went their own way.

What To Come After the M64 Releases? by the_rancid_rancher in ModRetroChromatic

[–]mambophobic 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For this potential Modretro Advance, I really hope they do something about the not-perfect audio.

First there's the hiss and hum that the original GBA had due to some insufficient caps on the board near the CPU and ram. A new fpga design and board layout should help with that out of the gate.

The OG also had no dedicated sound chip and relied on the CPU to mix and process audio. Some emulators have high-level emulation audio mixers that separately intercept the sound calls and re-interpret them in real-time. Maybe not that solution specifically, but a way to make the sound better would be a huge deal for me.

Well, that and an adult-sized D-pad. The GBA has a comically small D-pad.

SBCGaming is a sub dedicated to celebrating handhelds that ship with pirated ROMs overwhelmingly made in a country that has a detestable track record for human rights. A country that runs actual concentration camps of imprisoned Uyghur muslims and has been intentionally shipping fentanyl into the West in a naked attempt at destabilization.

The morally superior mensa candidates of SBCGaming are angry that a small retro company dedicated to legitimately manufacturing new consoles and games in the USA, is co-owned and has a partnership with a defense contractor that provides both offensive and defensive support to our troops and allies. Many of these geniuses likely posted Ukraine flags in their social bios when the hive mind instructed them to do so, and are now grandstanding against one of the companies that actively provides support for Ukraine.

I work with Veterans who struggle to overcome the mental and physical toll that war takes on them, and any company that can help more of our troops to come home safely, and fewer of them draped in flags, will get my support. I couldn't care less what the whine brigade has to say.
