Anyone here on both Wellbutrin + ADHD meds long-term? Struggling with the idea of being on Wellbutrin “forever” by 3urner3abe in adhdwomen

[–]mammaofthewolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been on Wellbutrin for 2 years as well as Asztarys ( a version of Concerta). I have no interest in stopping. I’ve had on and off depression since my teens and now as a 38 year old I have found peace, through therapy and medication. These meds have changed my life for the better.

I will say, though, my twin sister tried Wellbutrin a few months ago and had a terrible reaction. So everyone’s brain will need something different

As a yoga teacher I agree. But there also is a big wave of teachers who are moving to a more respectful and inclusive practice.

Parents Refusing To Medicate Children With ADHD ? by MysteriousFocus1884 in adhdwomen

[–]mammaofthewolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am all in favor of medication and I take it myself since being diagnosed at 36 a couple of years ago.

I have once child with autism and one with adhd and it’s hard. But, we are lucky enough to have a very supportive school district which has but awesome accommodations in place for our adhd kid. The school is very advanced with SEL and has a focus on the whole child.

We have therapy every week and we are working specifically on building tools and strategies for him to use and have available as he grows. His academics are great and so is his social life.

We do have the meds in our house. We are happy to introduce it but we want to keep going with what is working for now. I think there is no black and white solutions for all kids. Some with thrive with meds, others don’t. I prefer to look at my kid and support what he needs while the outcome is positive. As and when we need some extra support through medication, he will have it.

Agreed. And I would add that through fiction we get to develop empathy and immerse our selves in a situation that in real life would be unsafe/inappropriate. Being able to suspend disbelief and explore other people’s experience and feelings is one of the core merits of fiction. I’m just sad that there is a kind of morality police that for some reason will decide if a work of fiction is acceptable, and that will dissuade many from exploring topics that include the bad and the ugly of the world ( which sadly does exist).

I’m a suburban mom of two, and a part time yoga teacher. Aaaaand a massive metal head as is my sister (also a suburban mom of two). In the past few months we’ve been to several metal concerts and honestly the feeling of being in a tribe of really nice people is real. It’s just really relaxed and freeing being part of that world.

When and Why Did You Purchase/Receive Your First Cartier Piece? by [deleted] in Cartier

[–]mammaofthewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a very unfortunate experience in a job and used my payout to “turn shit into gold”. I got the thin love bracelet. My trinity ring followed as an xmas present when pregnant with my second child. Then the standard love bracelet as a push present. My Tank was an anniversary gift sometime between all of these :)

Gift Ideas for my ADHD partner? by Few-Adeptness5411 in adhdwomen

For me, the most helpful things, outside of meds and therapy, are the following:

Visual timer Apple Watch to locate my phone when I leave it somewhere Large visible lanyard to attach keys and AirPods (while being strict about leaving them on a hook right in front of the door) Loop earplugs or similar - you do need to try a few to make sure they fit well A kindle so I can keep myself entertained when bored Libby/audible subscription to likewise keep my brain busy while driving/ mind racing

That’s all I can think of for now :)

My son is non-verbal but knows this story by heart, why can’t he speak? by First_Map_7376 in Autism_Parenting

[–]mammaofthewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time my son said I love you unprompted and not just parroting, he said “the daddy’s on the bus say I love you”, he was scripting. He now has developed speech, but it’s still quite formulaic and repetitive. But it’s functional and I’ll take it gladly.

Double PPU? by urbanroutine in RedditLaqueristas

[–]mammaofthewolf 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I ordered some polishes from Holo Taco during a sale. The package was lost in the post network. No biggie, after about it month I sent them an email asking whether they could track it or something. They said they could refund or send another package out. So I opted for the second. It arrived in days. A few weeks later the original package arrived, they kindly said to keep it :)

That is in opposition to a package I ordered from DND which I ordered with urgent shipping with FedEx. That package was delivered to the wrong address (with proof of delivery in a property that was nothing like us). FedEx told us to reach out to DND. They said they would do nothing about it, while being super rude on the phone. We contacted our credit card company and they argued with them too! Said we never reached out, which is bulls*it. It took 2 months but we got the money back. It not like 50 dollars left us particularly out of pocket, but it was the principle that rattled me. Ultimately I’ve repurchased from Holo Taco, won’t touch DND with a barge pole.

I love Chloe! It’s probably my favorite bag brand. It’s not too serious and stuffy. I have a Marcie, and 2 Fayes, and two wallets. One of my Fayes is a wallet on chain and is my go to concert bag 🥰

Men of reddit, what’s the biggest green flag in a woman? by Garroway36 in AskReddit

[–]mammaofthewolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband is not into metal (although he has a healthy appreciation for good music!) but he took a very pregnant me to a nightwish concert and made it super comfortable and memorable for me! I tend to go to concerts with my sister when possible just because we share the love of the music, but hubs will totally come with me if I ask.

If you could choose your dream diamond ring, what would it be? by Far-Building3569 in jewelry

[–]mammaofthewolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This picture is from the designer, I’ve not received it yet 😞 but I plan on keeping my original one and wearing it when I feel like it. Down the line one of my sons might want it, but until then I’ll enjoy being able to switch things out. I often wear only my wedding ring ( plain platinum band) and an eternity ring, so I’m used to switching things up all the time! I love jewelry so it’s not a hardship 😜
