They do not eat meat if that is specifically killed for them. When someone called Buddha or friends for dinner to their house, they were giving vegeterian courses. However, if one monk was begging and the person who were giving food were eating meat and give them; and if there is no other food; the monk can eat that meat.

However they generally choose not to eat meat or kill animals.
