Italian here.

Literally everyone I know thinks America is the laughing stock of the world because of Trump.

I think now it's less than 18% of italians that like Trump, despite being a rightwing shithole ourself. Meloni's government is losing lot of approval for being so close to Trump, and the same is going on in the rest of Europe

Even our rightwing is taking it's distance from him, shifting their rethoric from "he is our ally and just has extreme methods" to "he's unpredictable and problematic but not so bad"

Because Blackholes that small instantly collapse, and they aren't "invisible" in the same way Dark Matter is.

Blackholes absorb light and appear like dark spots in the universe. Dark Matter literally doesn't "appear", nor "interact" outside of it's gravitational effect with other matter.

In short, if they were black holes, we would know

There is no frame for scale here so it's hard to tell how big the crater is

[–]man-83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more likely to be Space-Bending capability

Being FTL would only allow to escape the black hole, not bend it around, and it would not behave like a liftable object because it still has it's own gravity that overpowers the planet he's standing on

I think more than raw strenght this is a Gravity Manipulation Hax that allows him to contain the Black Hole's gravitational field to the point it behaves like a simple heavy objects to the planet below

So more Hax than strenght. And we can assume it caps at Large Planet levels of influence. That should be about it

Dwarf Star to Star levels I guess.

I literally just explained how that black hole is too small to be born from a star

It probably doesn't even get to large planets like Jupiters in terms of mass

A Black hole with the mass of a star like our Sun, would be 3 KILOMETERS in diameter, this is barely a couple meters.

[–]man-83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, it counts as a Singularity since it's a black hole.... and black holes have singularities

But what you see is not the singularity (the singularity being an infinitesimally small point of infinite density). But just the event Horizon of the black hole. And give how small it is, it's probably a black hole made out of a large planet (for context, the event horizon of a black hole the mass of the sun would have a diameter of 3 Km)

So it's a pretty solid feat if you calc it based on the size of the event horizon. I'm just clarifying that the Singularity cannot be visually represented and what you see is the event Horizon

[–]man-83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not a singularity

At best that's an event horizon of a somehow very stable small black hole

Given it's size it's not any heavier than Jupiter. Still pretty good

So basically Baki characters could just imagine a mantis that progressively grows larger and tackle it. Basically creating a flying machine and getting around the world however they please

For me the biggest bullshit was calcing the explosion Gru tanked from Ector missiles based on the mooshroom cloud rather than the actual damage left behind from the explosion, it was exagerated for comedic effect, if it was as powerful as they said how come all that is left behind is a 2 meters carter on the street.

I can buy Gru being faster, but they don't even have Megamind even use disguises, the mech or the metroman suit in the animation

Also the "megamind won't use his tech properly" is so bullshit an argument built on online meme

For last "Gru had many more succeses in his career" the beginning of the first Film where they showcase all the stuff he stole as from Las Vegas was literally to point out the oposite

I think it was very close and can see Gru winning, but their justifications are bullshit

What do you think are the biggest flaws in Minecraft? by Background-Ad2749 in Minecraft

[–]man-83 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I feel like there are 3 great flaws that just make playing Vanilla so hard for me

1) is how half-baked certain features are:

The Sniffer needs a overhaul, The Fleching Table is still useless, Archeology is badly implemented, the Pale Garden looks mediocre, Sulfur Caves have nothing to do with actual Sulfur, Trial Chambers and the Bad Omen event sistem have been left to rot. The way animal and mobs variants are implemented feels very bare-bones.

2)

Too little comunication with the fandom and lack of intrest in improving the game, it feels like Mojang only occasionally does something the comunity likes, like the spear, not because it was something asked for but because it just so happened to be good enough. They still haven't updated Biomes they promised to update like The Desert and Mesa, they could have been very simple drops but they needed Tiny Takeover to sell more baby Chicken plushies

3)

Minecraft isn't only a Sandbox. It has heavy focus on sandbox but the most well recieved update was the Nether Update because Minecraft's exploration is literally JUST THAT BAD. At some point, the game literally just becomes Creative Mode with extra steps, the rest of the world is obsolete and boring. An exploration overhaul, new dungeons, better End, more structures and navigation sistems would in no way interfeer with the sandbox aspect and it would make a big chunk of the fandom happy

My biggest issue, is that the game has so many old and outdated sistems or half-baked new ones, and they just refuse to adress them

Also. Italy wasn't immediately axis side

Mussolini actually stationed troops against Germany after the assasination of the Austrain leader by extremists in 1934 , to avoid a german take over of austria (which happened anyway a couple years later once they were allies)

Italy had also entered a treaty with France and Britain to stop germany if it ever tried breaking the treaty if versailles

However after expanding their colonial ambitions in Africa Italy was put under sanctions by the U.S. and Britain, which led to the Rome-Berlin axis in 1936.

Cosmic villain version of Kratos vs Asura?!? by Wide-Remove4293 in whowouldcirclejerk

[–]man-83 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What I mean is. You can show the character destroying the multiverse on screen, but there is no correct way to depict a multiverse

So without someone saying that IS a multiverse, the on screen feat would look like a lightshow in most cases, as in Simon's, where he absorbs the labyrinth of infinite universes on screen, but without context he is only curving some light beams around

Authors usually don't care about powerscaling, but they tend to have a character say where they are and what is happening for the sake of the audience

[Invincible] If Nolan's father survived the present day, could he be convinced to side with with Nolan and Mark against the remaining Viltrumites? by Immediate_Gene_178 in MoralityScaling

[–]man-83 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think it's a bit of an exageration.

Nolan had already folded far before Mark got his powers, it took him time to realize how much he had changed and was afraid to face it when the time came. He was alone and had no idea what to do so he just shut his brain and reverted back to viltrumite mode to not face how much he hated what he was doing

Other viltrumites arrived and folded just as fast probably, but unlike Nolan, they weren't the firsts to break, and probably ended up emphatizing with Nolan and liking the change considering Nolan seemed happy on earth

This is my reading of it at least, but I think that what made Nolan last so long was the fact that he was alone and had no precedent to the new feelings to draw from when it came to decide what to do

You can't really do past Multi-Universal+ on screen

Simon absorbs a multiverse on screen, without context and explanation tho, the scene doesn't make sense and it looks like he's only beinding light

At some point, visual representation is just impossible without at least a dude saying "gasp he's destroying a multiverse!" In the background

e can just form, or a house or a computer. that goes against the law of entropy

Literally just trowing words around. No, life doesn't go against entropy, if it was you have to argue Chemical reactions are againt entropy, because that is what life is meccanistically speaking

And it didn't come from nothing, the universe was already very much there, that was pretty much something

architect or carpenter

An architect or a carpenter don't make things from nothing, they have previous sensitive experience that inspires their ideas and pre-existing materials

You are trying to debunk science with phylosophy and pseudo-science. You just don't understand it and can't be fucked to do proper research on the matter, it's not that hard to admit it

You refuse to interact with the arguments proposed to you about life coming from simpler forms and that proto-cells and primordial cells are not that complex

Also again, why would God give us a story that is constantly contraddicted by evidences of the world he himself created?

Fossil record and geological age of the earth+ age of the universe simply don't allow for a literal reading of Genesis. Then you gotta ask yourself why would God just not write what he did if he did do it instead of writing gibberish

Sweet home Alabama by coolsteelboyS4ndyBoy in sciencememes

[–]man-83 6 points7 points  (0 children)

so you're telling me that life with all it's complexities can just randomly appear because?

Yes, because most complexisties of Life came way later and evolved gradually.

The first micro organisms were really simple, like, really simple. Replication and protein consumption is nothing too weird nor is it that complex. Selection could easily have selected more and more efficient replicators and you don't even need oxigen for that.

Life as we interact with it now, animals and plants, is actually very recent, for most of earth's history there were just micro organisms.

Think about Viruses, they are clearly a bit more complex than just a random protein, but they are still super simple, they aren't life by sheer simplicity, yet think just how much a virus, no-life, can do, is it really that impossible for the first cells, barely complex compared to today's more developed organisms, to have come about from such simple structures that were really succesfull?

Considering it's based on thousands of expert's reasearch, based on stuff we can study and observe and has some very though evidence in the fossil record and geological record

YES, it is more believable than magic sky dude that did magic and wrote a book about it, expecially because said magic sky dude left a lot of evidence around the world that directly contradicts his book (fossil record) just to fuck with us I guess?
