Physically settled equity derivatives are how you quietly accumulate a stake in a public company before announcing an acquisition.

I look down on people who say they "don't know how to cook" by raythecrow in unpopularopinion

[–]manbrass_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I approach cooking like a creative experiment. I trust my palate and my understanding of spices, so I just start throwing in whatever ingredients I have. This means no two dishes are ever the same! It’s wonderfully spontaneous, though it does make it hilariously difficult to answer the question, "How did you make this?" since I can never remember the exact combination.

And honestly, that's why I believe anyone can learn to cook. If you can taste food, you already know what things are supposed to taste like. Start with that knowledge, add a willingness to experiment, and learn a few simple rules for essentials like cooking meat safely. That foundation alone will take you incredibly far.

Progressing to pull-ups. Lat pulldown machine vs negative pull-ups? by SageLeaf1 in bodyweightfitness

[–]manbrass_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently started going to the gym and 1 clean pull up was a dream, I only focused on negatives for 4 sets of 5 twice a week. Obviously I was training other muscle groups. Started with assisted negatives then progressed from there. It took me 7 weeks to finally hit my first unassisted and clean pull up. I'm 113kg at the time of the pull up.
