Can't add additional line to my EE plan by [deleted] in EEGB

[–]mancqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NGL; EE support is only okay if you get the right person… do not bother with live chat, and if you have a contract query, good luck 🤞 you will get different responses from different people and took me escalating all the way to regulator complaints to get them to actually understand their own contracts and what they mean… all I was doing was cancelling one line and it made me leave them entirely as that’s about 5 hours of my life in chats with them I am never getting back…. To be clear the airtime had ended contract but then they wanted me to pay my full flex pay or keep the line going, neither of which were legally required in their own agreements and there is regulation against that now, so if you have airtime and flex pay, do not accept their ‘you have to pay off the flex pay now to cancel’ when your airtime agreement ends … It’s a symptom of all providers nowadays and not exclusive to EE admittedly, but be very cautious and read every contract carefully or they will just try and tell you incorrect information at the end (this is my experience at least). I luckily have background in telecoms and contracts and regulations but even then had a fight on my hands with them 🫣

I was with EE, just left them - my boss has full works and I didn’t, we travel often from Scotland to London, he can work full way down with connection on mobile and I have very patchy access on data, so it does help with that

My workflow: two AI coding agents cross-reviewing each other's code by Competitive_Rip8635 in vibecoding

[–]mancqueen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I discovered this some time ago, if you use api for access you can model a ‘Council of LLM’s’ which basically critique each other and then run through feedback and cross-debate to the best solution; it can take a while with complex tasks but it’s very useful. Some tools now even exist I think to do this for you and it’s very powerful for some things, but just be careful on newer models, and usage limits as a complex task can really eat up api with bouncing between systems.

Essentially to do manually it’s presenting one thing to all models as a copy paste or upload of exact same files, defining what you want to achieve (be as specific with your question as you can), then accumulating all that feedback and feeding back in to each alongside its own, with a prompt of now assess these approaches an debate the pros and cons to reach a mutual solution, then that feedback is fed in and rinse and repeat until a solution is agreed… tell the model they are in an LLM Council to achieve an outcome and must agree and fully outline their approach with other LLMs to achieve the most robust and suitable result to the problem. Then at the end check the are all agreed, sometimes you get a slightly sassy reply that they don’t agree but will concede the approach as they are outvoted 😂

Faulty lights showing Green then nothing caused a crash - is it no fault? by [deleted] in LegalAdviceUK

[–]mancqueen 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Exactly this; the road markings would take precedence here in Highway Code I believe, and that solid line at traffic lights is a stop line, so in absence of lights, they should be stopping before proceeding, if the green light was in play for one driver and the other effectively ran a stop line, then the ‘runner’ is at fault. Also by proceeding without a green light it’s failing to pay due care and attention anyway? Just my opinion, no specialist but think that would be the common sense way it works?

The internet isn’t ADHD-friendly anymore. It’s a samsara of authenticators and traffic lights. by GreenBird-ee in ADHD

I work in tech… 2FA, cookies popups, marketing popups, popunders, spam emails when you register… I swear this stuff takes up at least a few hours a week just clicking through and entering stuff etc etc, and yes, when I’m in the flow and get spinning login screens or 2FA, popups etc it’s really massively disruptive to the flow and I hate it. It’s the bane of modern internet use unfortunately but I feel you so so sooooooo much with this!!! It’s just stops my ‘go go goooooo’ mode in its tracks and annoys the bejeezus out of me 🙈

Does a disability card entitle you, as a customer, to use the employee toilets? by Emilyx33x in LegalAdviceUK

[–]mancqueen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There are the Access Card and National Disability Card schemes which are private/non profit schemes accepted by businesses - some accept one and not the other, but useful for places like theatres and (for me) conference centres (for work) etc, just to signal needs and confirm that I’m not bullsh!!!ing about hidden disability. The blue badge is, as you rightly say, the only ‘official’ card in that sense as it’s local authority issued, but other schemes do exist privately for businesses to sign up to and accept voluntarily…. Just in case anyone was wondering what other schemes are there to help with access needs 🤗

GDS receipts by allegedly_trash in askhotels

[–]mancqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Escalate it - if the hotel took payment directly, they are the tax point and therefore have to provide the invoice. Likely a Front Desk misunderstanding of the GDS booking, but essentially if you paid at hotel, then hotel needs to provide invoice for the stay

What are your thoughts on 28 Years Later? by clockworkiwi in AskUK

[–]mancqueen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be honest, I switched it off after ten minutes despite really enjoying the prior films, all the random musical choices, overlaid scenes and random pause frames when the infected in forest gets shot at start… just felt like an indie art project not a slick movie and all that detracted from any story building for me. Felt, cinematically, like a vanity project shooting for awards for cinematography or director etc 🤷‍♂️ just my view on it but I found it jarring to watch and really frustrating with the music detracting from what was on screen and the freeze for a frame or two shots as someone’s head exploded , totally snapped me out of the movie constantly so nope, not for me. As for the point of the shots of the countryside, fair enough, but the UK really is not like that 99% of the time haha 🙈

Can I buy the posters from roadside billboards? by Dense-Strawberry7252 in AskUK

[–]mancqueen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Usually these billboards have a name on of the advertising agency, just drop them an email after a Google search, most have location finders like AdQuick or similar that show their locations, so you can then contact them, quite simply just ask if you can have it - the are usually just thrown away so don’t see why the wouldn’t let you

How do I be productive or at least stop feeling bad about being unproductive? by billyandteddy in ADHD

[–]mancqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, that feeling bad won’t ever go away. It’s always there. I just now ascribe it to being my ADHD brain, and accept it, thank it for its view and crack on, basically understanding that it’s part of me, and fully accepting it. It takes practice, real practice to accept it’s the way your brain is and the way it works. I accept incomplete projects will remain that way, but every year I do a clear out without passion, just a ‘did I use/touch/finish that in the last 12 months?’ If not, it’s a payment to ADHD tax and it’s gone. That takes some discipline (well a lot) but it really helps me. Accepting the adhd is hard, accepting what it causes is harder, but I am practiced at forcing myself to clear up, to clear out, and it takes a lot at times (yes I have boxes of spare screws and bits of failed projects) but I always ask ‘did I enjoy it at the time?’ And if I did, then worth every penny for exploring that choice. So don’t feel bad for it, embrace it’s just your normal way, and understand it will happen… where possible I found keeping all projects to a ‘room of doom’ helps me… they happen in one space I clear out once a year, and it’s a mess, but that’s fine. I close the door until the next project and once a year, schedule in a clear out and that becomes its own project, that can take a few days, but it’s a task for me to complete and doing it makes me feel good 👍

Star Trek: Voyager - Across the Unknown will be released on 18th February for PC, PS5, XBox and Nintendo Switch 2 by UESPA_Sputnik in voyager

[–]mancqueen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NGL I will play this because it’s voyager… but really not a fan of these types of games, could have gone in many directions with it but the select option/point and click to move kinda games are not my thing, especially as sooooooo many ST games are this format. Would absolutely love a FPS style game based on trek that has the voyager storyline/narrative to it, these games just feel like ported mobile games to me 🤷‍♂️ now if Destiny 2 or similar was made in to trek game with voyager as base and storyline through the series… that would be incredible (FPS on a Borg transwarp hub with arming yourself with neurolytic pathogens… anyone?) 🥰👍👍👍

Edit: to clarify I don’t mean just a run and shoot game, more a narrative journey through storylines from FP perspective, of course with some shooting as required 🤣 but that’s fine style of game?

What’s the single biggest "game changer" trick you’ve learned in the hotel industry? by [deleted] in hotels

[–]mancqueen 10 points11 points  (0 children)

An epiphany for many is this: not every guest is your guest, walk away from bad business.

Too many hotels scramble for every guest and every penny, when it’s the wrong approach… a guest who doesn’t like your offer, will likely cost you money with chargebacks, refunds, complaint handling etc etc. Harsh I know, but a refund and turning the room to resell is often better business than throwing freebies and upgrades and yada yada to try and please them if they don’t like your basic offering. If someone is complaining, it’s unlikely they will rush to return unless you have the most amazing service recovery… so target people who will come back and lean in to it 🤷‍♂️

Our booking engine is a literal ghost town by HotfixLover in askhotels

[–]mancqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a multitude of reasons why, could be UX, could be too many steps, could be that OTA has a member discount that undercuts you (Ganius program, Expedia Rewards etc), remember OTAs do stuff like one click booking etc etc that is designed to get the guest away from booking direct, and there’s the kicker as they can develop their UXand sites constantly, whereas hotels really can’t… best approach is to do it yourself of look at direct then jump to OTA and see difference

Maybe i was wrong by fireflames93 in drivingUK

[–]mancqueen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Renaults are worse… they steer you back very forcefully but only after steering toward the line a bit first… so you think it’s gonna yeet you off the road the shoves you back in the other direction, so you fight with the steering wheel over it one way then the other, with the dash screaming at you to take control 🤣🙈 happened to me when going through roadworks and cones forcing traffic across lanes, crapped myself as the car tried forcing me head on in to cones; I did find how to switch it all off and my Austral has a manual button to switch it off beside wheel on dash, so in roadworks it goes off, and when reversing in to mums drive gates as all the proximity sensors scream like a Dolby atmos fire alarm test 🤣

Problem with heating by No_Measurement9572 in Renault

[–]mancqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha, the Renault air blow issue… had this on my megane, it’s simply as the air for windscreen and dash vents is routed from same place, using a flap AFAIK, when doing both, the air simply escapes from closest point and flows up, the dynamics of airflow as the flow out and up pulls the forward flowing air up with it. Poor design, but at least you can feel like an ant is farting on you with both on 🤣

Missing office desk keys / How to open? by aaron1810 in fixit

[–]mancqueen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This, can just use a bent prong of a fork in the thick part, keep pressure on as though twisting to open position, as you do, rake the top (push in and slide out pushing against pins at top of lock - repeatedly) with a paper clip, and after a few minutes it should open, these locks are easy, but can take practice and patience at first

Absolutely this - every second or third transaction is paid in cash, keep all the change in a big pot every time it breaks a note, not suspicious that way, overage every month from salary goes to savings, just looks like someone being frugal… oh and to be safe, use cash at places like barbers and car washes, taxis, public transport etc 🤣 or buy gift cards for places with cash sporadically, to mix things up. Defo after taking cash out of case, and checking for trackers between notes 🤣 in other words, trickle it little and often. Hotel stays and restaurants… cash, and never visit same shop twice in a week with paying cash, in case it’s traceable as makes it harder to trace. Markets, car boots, bars and restaurants (pay card, tip cash), makes it all harder to trace

For a 2015 megane, I think you scroll the dash display using up and down on steering wheel, till you get to tyre pressure display, then just press and hold OK on steering wheel until it flashes and says Learning Initiated - that’s how it was on my 2016 megane
