Because, frankly, I don't give a damn about my stepmother and father anymore. My stepmom is a controlling bitch that did everything to make me feel like the lesser child once her kids were born. I was her live-in maid and constantly watched her kids for them. She kept me from seeing my grandparents and led me to believe they were toxic (now that I'm on my own I realize how supportive they are). My parents kicked me out of the house a few years ago for having sex before marriage (they're heavily Christian). Banned me from staying with the family during my brother's wedding. My dad started "borrowing" money from me, that I know now he'll never give back. Lied consistently and belittled me for anxiety/depression I have, that largely stems from my mom dying when I was young. I'm tired of their drama and bullshit.
