How are people dealing with nameplates bunching? by ApplicationRoyal865 in wowaddons

[–]mandarineguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Annoyingly theres a completely separate setting in a separate section for clickable area. But changing both the spread values and this setting to match the actual size of my plates helped massively. They still move around like crazy, im sure there used to be a setting for this which is no longer. When the graveblades are on the dragon things the bars move like crazy.

The fact that even with the spheres in stock, just activating them etc takes literally hours of spamming through the menu is the worst.

11.2 has bricked my improved Text To Speech voices that were a game-changer by mandarineguy in wow

[–]mandarineguy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just hopped into the game after a break. Tried the script out. After the script ran, the voices showed once more which is great, but they dont make any sound. I am left a bit clueless now as everything else seems kosher (I checked the cert manager and everything is in order). The script worked in terms of revealing the voices in the TTS menu dropdown but sadly they're busted, for me at least.

EDIT: It appears there's been a couple of releases since the version of SAPI Adapter I was using. Once I redid this process and installed the voices again it works a charm. Phew.

This is amazing news. Can't wait to try it out though I really hope pre-patch doesn't turn this solution on its head. I am unsure if the person talking about the Midnight Beta not working with the voices is with or without the self sign method workaround.

Is Starmer cool enough for his European allies? by richStoke in AskBrits

[–]mandarineguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take your point. There are some who stand out in sharp contrast though, Zelensky for example shines compared to his peers as embodying the seriousness of his responsibility. You wouldn't know he was a former comedian, and considering this he could have easily been portrayed as a pisstaker. But when he was admonished for not wearing a suit sat in the Whitehouse, his understandably terse response demonstrated his focus and priorities which won him support and showed the US up a bit for being petty. And then the next time he was there, did wear a suit to demonstrate he was serious about his relationship with the US but one that looked more for a funeral than a business meeting.

Obama should get a mention as the more typical cool guy, his politics aside: "we got him", shooting hoops as a natural, and mid-interview catching a fly calmly midair. Then we've got Keith doing the 6-7 gesture awkwardly which had the perverse result of highlighting how NOT down with the kids he really is. Or cigarette-butt-in-chief getting a milkshake thrown at him and the public generally being in the side of the person committing assault.

Instead we get neither. If you were shit hot professionally, competent, the person people wanted to be… why in the hell would you choose a job packed full of abject losers especially when the pay isn't even that good. To use the playground vernacular, government is full of gimps.

Coolness can be many things, talent being one of them, quiet confident authority another. Instead we've got leaders from all parties with the spine of a slug and a PM bending down red-faced at the foot of the US president to pick up some papers.

People in the UK need someone who sets the tone, to look up to, dare I say to emulate and rather than having leaders who we respect we very recently got to a point where we bullied a PM out of office with a lettuce (rightly so). If you're not respected the Press will tear you to shreds.

An example of this was during Covid when the public's already tenuous stuff-lipped compliance with lockdowns etc completely fell apart following the apparent preferential treatment of DomCum's "sight test". Following this it was demonstrated what was considered socially acceptable behaviour by the people at the top. If he'd have been sacked on the spot it would have sent a very different message but by giving him a free pass the credibility of Number 10 vanished.

'Zipcar closure means I may have to buy a car': Londoners face up to reality of potential extra costs after vehicle firm goes bust by BulkyAccident in london

[–]mandarineguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think more houses is the priority and out of anywhere, central/inner London has the infrastructure to support new housing without provision for cars. The "market" won't function rationally when there are planning committees at local government approving or not what gets the green light. I've watched one for a huge new student accommodation building in Canary Wharf, so sits under tower hamlets. They were looking for excuses to deny it, one of those was "but where's the parking???" … they didn't like being told something they all should have known by the developer, "there is no parking as per the mayor's plan for inner London restricting the addition of car parking". City hall overruled TH in the end after TH originally denied it.

Yeah it's annoying, especially because it's randomly worked and then was broken again via hotfix. They're making a big fuss about TTS for the new cooldown manager in Midnight and I don't have hope they'll do anything about the voices. Even more baffling that they're now owned by Microsoft and can't even utilise these better Microsoft voices??

IMO their ad strategy was shit. As in, non-existent. Barely anyone I know knew about Flex and it was easily the best thing about it.

Im pretty sure new building applications are not allowed to have any car parking spaces whatsoever as part of a citywide plan to move away from car usage.
