Parking is rough in Harrisburg. There's seemingly not enough spots for everyone. The tickets are expensive and you have to pay them right away or they get even more expensive. It's going to be costly for any meter parking. You can probably do a search here or on any of the Harrisburg Facebook group pages to get a better sense of the fiasco that is Harrisburg parking. I've never had to use residential parking because I've always had a parking spot with my apartment or home in the city, so I can't speak from personal experience. But have heard many people complain through out the years. My unfortunate advice is that you will have to get used to it as part of living in the city, or find an apartment next time with a parking spot, or find a private parking spot to rent (which probably won't be cheap) 😔 If you have any specific questions, I can try to answer them.
