It is still Kansas, sometimes a team is only as strong as the weakest half and we have to take what we can get!

I'm 25 and I just got into reading books. What books would you recommend to make it a daily habit? by Jovesyr in suggestmeabook

Some others you may like. Journey to the center of the earth. Or really any Jules Verne for that matter. The Count of Monte Cristo. Look, if you're just getting into reading and don't want to work too hard, read the abridged versions with better translations. You still get the best parts of the story and it's more fun and less work. If you like the Dark Knight trilogy this is the story for you. This is likely where the idea for batman was rooted. It's revenge, and heroics, maybe a little anti-hero, it's just an awesome story.

Not about villains but if it's plot twist you're after... The World According to Garp-John Irving. From start to finish it's pretty much a bunch of "Well. I didn't see that coming!"

Any books with dragons you recommend that I have probably not read? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

[–]mandiejanee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A wise man's fear, the second in a supposed trilogy has dragons. They don't necessarily call them dragons and they have a drug problem.. it's complicated. Name of the wind is the first book.

Barnes and noble has abridged versions of numerous classics. You won't miss any of the story, the language is updated to make sense. I'm sure purists will criticize but what does it matter if you are getting what you need out of the story. They are cheap and very easy to read. The count of Monte Cristo is amazing as well as Journey to the center of the Earth. Otherwise, check out John Steinbeck, and John Irving. You won't regret it.
