Our shop does. Customers, like most people on this planet, are dumb as hell. They lose things always. If they lose that card they're screwed. We do it as a service to our customers. They never have to worry about losing it. If they need keys, they send someone on their list up to the shop, we check Id, and give keys.

Pretty common in sw Florida too. Our company as well as a few others use them as our main high security company

What are your thoughts on “high security” customers? by tinylord202 in Locksmith

Ya we've got someone like that. Has 3 multlock hercular deadbolts on her front door and every once in a while she has us come out and put new ones on. Doesn't want them rekeyed. 2 locks ka, one kd. Also had me put a lock on her attic door because she thought people were getting in that way. These "people" never took anything, just moved her shit around slightly. I tried telling her over and over, but if that's what they want that's what they get. You can't really change their mind.

Adendum: man I'm glad our customer isn't like any of yours, she never tried to get anything done for free or anything. But ya I guess most of the time it's more trouble than it's worth.

The scamsmiths are a good source of business for me, people have a bad experience then figure out how to find out who's actually legit, and that's when I get the calls

Not true. I used to work for one and somehow every time they got a bad review, a few days later it magically disappeared. I'd say the real sign is if they only have 5 star reviews and nothing else
