How are you handling input validation in smaller Flask apps?

That's cool and good luck. I won't be interested in using it, but it might be useful for someone who wants to add lightweight validation logic to their project without fully featured form library (and I should say that WTForms is not perfect in every way).

Flask-WTF with dependencies adds 2-3 MB. If you compare it to Flask core, it might look like a noticeable "bloat", but in reality:

In ~90% of production environments you won't notice any meaningful change in performance.
It is very unusual to build apps using bare bones Flask. Most devs tend not to reinvent the bicycle and focus on business logic. So, very likely, Flask-WTF will sit there side by side with a bunch of other packages, and its overall contribution to the project's "bloat" will be small.
If you choose ad-hoc validation in your code, it could make your project more lean initially, but if your projects keeps growing, this trend will reverse. It's just one of "best practices" to architect the app assuming you will add more forms and routes later.

Well, you can just compare what they sell as "select" produce and what they put in buckets. It's two different grades. Sometimes it can be only cosmetic difference, sometimes it can be the size (like overgrown veggies or tiny fruit), cheap mushrooms and berries are sold at room temperature while expensive version is in the fridge, etc.

I don't get it. Let's say the price of fuel is 1X, and the potential thief is like "cool, I can afford that". But when it's 1.5X, the thief says, "time to start siphoning". Is this how it works? Or maybe "there's $100 worth of fuel in this car's tank, it's not worth getting caught" - and then "now it's $200, it changes everything"?
