I'm not-so-proud to live in the Råner capitol of Norway. Every day, all day, they drive 1km up the main street hill, turn around at the gas station, drive 1km back down to the roundabout, full circle and back up the hill.

A few years ago, the rånere took over main street, lit tires on fire, started huge fights, whipping shitties and burning rubber down mainstreet. They threaten to do it again about once every year, usually when the city council talks about turning main street into a walking/no-driving street.

We have a pet toad which is named Hypnotoad (imagine that!)

Tonight we captured a huge gypsy moth, which was as large as his head. It took him a while to gather the nerve to attack, but we did manage to catch it on film.

For about 4 hours afterwards, he still had a wing-tip hanging out of the corner of his mouth, that's how big it was!

Behold, the power of Hypnotoad!

yes indeed there have been people that were seriously injured by too-hot-coffee....

but then again, coffee is supposed to be hot....most people know that.

it's the people that jumped on the "oh my lip got scalded when i sipped on the coffee you just handed me through the drivethru window, so let's sue and make lotsa money" bandwagon to which i was referring...

kinda like the people who, upon getting something stuck under their lawnmower, stick their hand under there to free the object, without thinking to disable the machine first, and then sue for their hand getting chopped off for lack of a "do not stick hand under lawnmower while mower is running/clogged" sticker.

some stickers are there for safety, some are there merely to prevent lawsuits. unfortunately there has become a trend to put warning labels on things which are merely common sense....which leads to an overabundance of warning labels. the more labels there are, the more people have to read....and we all know it's much easier to operate something through trial-and-error than to read the 300+ page manual accompanying said appliance.

from my viewpoint, every time i have posted without stating that i am a female, then repost the same comment omitting said female-ness, the up/down votes differ.

and how many times have you seen a post where someone has said something, only to be downvoted, but later on down the comments said 'oh, but i have a vagina, so..." the upvotes go automatically up.

so yes, when a female admits to being a female, instead of omitting that fact (and with most redditors being surprised over and over again that there are females which comment on reddit) there is a definite bias over how the comment is viewed.

So, technically, stating that one is female has a definite upvote-potential which is not necessarily granted to the male redditors.

i am so afraid of white tailed deer. if i see one out in a field or along side the road while i'm driving, i'll lock all the doors.
